Quick update


So today I picked up the paint for both helmets

I then cut the visor part for both helmets

Red isnt done..ran out of daylight lol

It was a pain jn the butt because my shops cutting tool/dremmel broke..so I had to use a cheap harbor fright dremmel the gf gave me as a gift. For home use.

But here they are

So tomorrow..I have to:

Get a new cutting tool
Cut them in half

Paint pink hopefully


And then if tjme allows work on reds teeth..which is all it needs

Eric kits are always a pain but if you take the time they turn out epic
Look forward to seeing the rest of your progress for the visor on the pink are you going to vacuform ? Or just put a flat one ?

I know i havent updated in forever... But my collection has grown since i started this.

I recently startee working on the red again.. Pink is ready for paint still..just lost track of this project..

The mouth and teeth are still grinding my gears.. So i went and got some clay.. Planning on doing the clay. And then trying to do a mold and casting it...just so i have a better base to work from, this red cast is just horrible imo.. Too much to fix and it still seems will never be perfect



Blue is almost ready for primer..i was working on that one before..

So that dang crayola clay didnt work... It was a pain in the butt to work with.. N then flaked off..so had to go get me some other clay.. Hobby lobby was closed, therefore i had to go to micheals. And got this.

Depends which ones you want.. But ive seen some good ones on ebay lately.. I got most of mine off eric0101 from rb forum on facebook... And pink and yellow from matt on rb forum

i know its been forever since i updated, but i got sidetracked with my bttf stuff...

i just started working on my green helmet since im going to be trading it

managed to get about an hour of work in.. almost done filling in the defects, on the cast line, didnt go down near the cut line because i forgot my dremel at the sisters house, when i went to repair some things, so i didnt want to loose the line..

se yesterday i worked a little on red.. since i couldnt pick up my dremel..
i still need t fix the mouth, still not happy with it, and smooth out the back... also tried primering just to test out the spray can primer..but i didnt like it..

today i worked on green, picked up the dremel last night...

i cut the helmet, and worked on the back, sikce its all bumpy and pitty. just need to fill in some little bubble spots in the eyes and mouth
and fix parts of the seamline, so it can look proper, i am going to reinforce the seamlime with either fiberglass and resjn or just resin, after that a good sanding and primer and it should be ready to go

I'm working on the same Green Ranger kit. Pain in the ass to make it all smooth. I think I used body filler on 90% of the helmet. Now I'm ready to paint and put a visor in.

yes it is, kit is not that great.. a lot of work for these kits.. seems like getting a better kit is worth the money, if you want to do it quick..

ok so i know i havent updated... last thing i did before today was, i sprayed it with primer filler, and then started working on all the little imperfections it had, the cast had a lot of tiny invisible pin holes, but the primer really made them pop..

. i also applied resin all around the inside of the helmet, to make it smoother, it had a lot of rough spots inside

so today, i cut the visor area, and made the registration keys,now i have to wait until it cures, so back at it again tomorrow. hopefully i can finish it soon. i want to get it out already.. most of the time has been spent on having to wait for stuff to fully cure.. ugh.. anyways heres a couple of pictures

now i just need to be happy with the way everything looks..make the holes for the clasps, and primer again.. then i can see if it needs anything else..if not then get it ready to paint

so recently i have been doing this.. getting the seam line as thin as possible and fixing ods and ends.. i am finally happy with it, so now its pretty much ready to start prepping for paint...

i didnt like how the refistration keys came out because i didnt use enough clamps.. so i got them off..and started making new ones.. stsrting from one side..then doing the other tomorrow...

i am also going to put another 2 layers of fiberglass on the back part of the helmet, since i feel its too flimsy..and i want it to be strong

I used masking tape and body filler for the reg keys, less messier than using resin. That's also how I fixed the gap between the front and back part. Put tape and globs of body filler on the front part and then aligning the back part and squishing the filler between.

yeah thats what i ended up doing..for the cut line..tried different methods.. and tape just worked better..

i want to do fiberglass registration keys.. so they can be strong and not fall off... i dont mind working with it..

so i put more fiberglass because it was super flimsy... and it came out really smooth.. i like it!

dont mind the dog mess..she took out her dang blankets and theyre just there, havent had time to clean up..

its still wet, and only one thick coat of primer.. almost ready to paint hopefully.. i am going to prime the inside tomorrow and start wet sanding it
