My MMPR Stunt Helmet Kits builds

Ok so this will be my build thread i guess lol.. Im new here so dont hate please


Here are my kits i just received monday 8/11

Red helmet is in really bad shape. And is an eric0101 kit from rb forum

Pink mmpr stunt i got from matt on rb forum as well .. Not too much work needed..

So worked on the red because it had the most work needed lol

After 3 hours

Dremmeled the teeth
This side was not even and teeth were pretty flush to the middle

This side had imperfections in the middle just wanst smooth

Sanded down all the spots that had indents and needed filling

Still needs lots of body work..

Will update when i get a chance to work on them again

Ok so i worked on both today .. Red is almost done.. The teeth are the only thing left and they are killing me

As you can see needed a lot of filling to make it even on both sides... Grrr so much work


Here is the pink.. Filled in the small imperfections it had..

Need to sand with 220 gritt and first layer of primer
This one will mostlikely be done first

Awesome build so far. I commend you on taking on both of these helmets. While I've never been a fan of Eric's Tyranno for various reasons, you are doing a stellar job on it. :thumbsup

I didn't know what state the helmet kits came in.
Now I know why I don't want a helmet kit, lol.

Looking good so far keep it up buddy.

I wasnt satisfied with the mouth so im working on that

Now i know even the real stunt cast have the mouth like that.. But it annoys me lol

Ok so u worked on the red.. Its really grinding my gears.. I fixed the mouth somewhat lol still needs more work

The teeth are rwally annoying me.. So i had to stop lol

On to the pink

I fixed a couple more imoerfections i found.. And then i started priming it..

Funny story: i ran out of primer.. So i out paint thinner on the gun to clean it.. I started working on the red.. My dad passed by and noticed that it had a super light coat.. So he sprayed it ... N yup he sprayed it with thinner hahah

So now it looks all messed up hahah

I need to re primer it.. Put the guide.. Sand.. Putty. And primer..

Almost there! Haha
So gotta go buy more supplies for the shop tomorrow..

Wow, I've not seen that problem you are having with the mouth on the actual live show helmet. But the one Eric0101 has is actually a casting off the one Aniki got off Yahoo Japan a few years back. I remember seeing the auction and that helmet was in rough shape. You could tell by the fat upper left lip of the Tyranno's mouth around the visor that it's the same helmet. Here is a photo of the actual live show helmet:


And this is my copy off the screen used helmet:


You can see the original live show helmet did not actually have sculpted teeth. It's like a commercial grade print and was basically taped on. The screen used copy is very different and very sharp in comparison. Here are some photos of the teeth that I hope help you out:

If you look closely left lip is indented a little as well.. But damn yours looks way better wish i had one that goood

As of right now, no. I still have to finish smoothing out the back a little more and I have too many projects on my plate to just focus on that one right now. But maybe in the near future.

Where are you guys getting Pink Ranger helmet kits from? My wife wants one bad and the only person I can find that even sells Pink Ranger helmet other than e-bay is Aniki and he only sells them completed.

Oh, of course! I wouldn't either. I support every prop makers had work, and it sucks to have it being redistributed like that. My phrasing came out wrong.

By the way, how is the red you are working on? I bought a green, but it has not a arrived yet, I will start my bondo work on my pink this holiday weekend. What grits sand do you recommend?
