Because the original board used had long thick golden fingers and then tiny silver fingers on top ... here's my vintage to compare :

The board shown in post # 1 did not have them silver. However if you buy the ESB set from Roy at wannawanga.com ... that's all been done for you :)

That is a gorgeous looking board, Chaim. You always have the best pictures of your stuff.

Matt, where did you find those real grips with such good definition? All the ones I've found look like garbage : /

*EDIT* I meant the grips on the Mauser :)

I got them on eBay. I had to be patient though. You're right, most of the ones that pop up look like crap. These were perfect for me. I can't believe I almost didn't get them!

They're really great. I'll just keep checking the usual sites and hope for the best. Really great looking pair you've got there... that sounded dirtier than I meant :$

This is the duo I'm going for. Got the sabre finished, just waiting on boba debt's run for the blaster! They look so good together!

Thanks man. They definitely make a good set and you can't go wrong with BobaDebt's stuff.

I'm thinking of trying to find a real circuit board to cut up. Anyone have any ideas what will work? Specific boards?

I just looked up "vintage circuit board" on ebay. I looked for ones that had 13 pins with silver traces in a row and then just eyeballed the size of the gold fingers. I bought a couple since they're only a couple bucks each and I like building flash-based sabers anyway. They're not 100% accurate, but it works for me.

That looks great. Just what I'm after. Thanks for the tip.

Parfaitelumiere is selling some nice ones in the Junkyard : http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=249883 but they are not a couple of bucks though you have plenty to choose from :)

Chaim

Yeah, I've seen his before. They look good but that's a little more than I wanted to spend. I think I'll just keep looking for a vintage board.

That's a great picture, well done Matt ... and I guess the cold of the metal G R A F L E X body has also an influence on the grips falling off more easily?

Thank you! Yes, the cold on the metal tube just made the epoxy pop right off. No residue on the metal or anything. Now I know a good way to remove them if I want to in the future. It was an easy fix so all is good.

So just asked this in the TFA thread but just to be clear. ESB circuit card= thin pins to the left opposite the clamp lever. TFA= thin pins right toward the clamp lever
Is this correct?
