My Iron Man mk6/mk7 and mk8 mixture build

Hey guys, im a first time maker. new to the whole sceen even though ive been lurking in the shadows for so many years.

About me:
25 year old norwegian student, marvel enthusiast since i was a toddler. as mentioned first timer.

My build is going to be a mix of the mk8 Helmet, mk 6 chest and the rest of the suit is going full out mk7. Why? because i like the looks im making this to blow my friends away and im not worried about people knowing its not a complete mk8 etc.

As far as the build goes, im planing on coating the helmet with fiberglass, seeing how i live in a small apartment i dont have the room, expertise and the money to start casting :/

So far ive made:
- Helmet
- Neck
- Shoulders
- chest
- back
-abs
-Lower Arms
- Gloves ( bought from docholiday78)




And of course, i as well broke the golden rule of not making the helmet first.

the shoulders are almost done, i would have comepleted them tonight as well if it wernt for my hot air gun began throwing flames and then bursted into smoke

New update, just started with some basic arduino programming for the leds. this is just a test, while i wait for the arduino nano and all the leds and stuff.

So far the build is coming along nicely, been abit busy with uni stuff the last couple of days, so ive only been able to play around with the arduino and seal the foam shoulders aswell as getting the 2nd coat of resin on the helmet.

Next weeks plan:
Finish the upper body, biceps and lower arms. aswell as start on the lower body.
Im hoping to get both legs done aswell. Im going to spend one day with bondo in my parents garage to finish the helmet.

cool. im doing a hybrid armor as well, for next year. its comprised of parts from the mark 3, mark 6, mark 7, mark 8, war machine, ultimate, and extrmis. my worry is making it all fit together. but then im going to give it the mark 8 color scheme. so good luck on urs

Great start even if you did the helmet first . You shoud've gotten a pic of the flame throwing hot glue gun. That would of been awesome.

I was to busy trying to put the fire out but all is well that ends well. Had to catch up on some uni work today. Im hoping to have the chest and back done this week. More updates to come

Finished the lower arms and a new helmet. i wasnt to pleased with the first so i made a new one.

UPDATE!

Ive been finishing up the cod piece aswell as the lower arms between midterms and quite happy with the result, even though it feels like im wearing a iron man diaper.

A couple of days ago i came over this thread , and i got inspired to try it out. So my iron man helmet has a buddy now

And While doing the Cap helmet i started thinking "hmm maybe i can make a TDK cowl out of foam." guess we will have to wait and see

A little Christmas Update

Finally done with all my midterms, so i spent a couple of hours today, fiddling with my electronics. So i had to rework my code for the Arduino, while doing that it seems like i need 2 arduino nano, to get all the I/O i need for gloves/head and chest.

Ive been trying to bend plexiglass for some time for the eyes, but they either break or im unhappy. So here i am, trying to figure out something to use for the lenses. While scratching my head i touch my glasses.... EUREKA!

I Took out out the glass from one of my spare glasses and now i can see and light up the eyes

Christmas update #2

Dont know why i keep updating this, seems like no one cares, anyways here are some pics of the upper body. Just missing Handplates and its done. Waiting for more foam to get in stock at Biltema, seems like i have to wait until February... unless i want to pay $7 for a A3 sheet of foam at the craft shop

You have to understand how many iron man builds we are exposed to here everyday.

Tough to really comment on all of them. If your thread has views on it, they have seen it.

also, 90% of them never finish.
That's why people usually need to see more progress.
So we don't get heart broken lol

That is not me, i swear i bought a mannequin instead of building one. i was going to make one, but after gathering all the pvc and joints the lady at the register told me she wanted over $200 for it.. seems like pvc is freaking expencive in norway;O
