Re: My Iron Man Mark VI (pics)

Thanks for all the great responses. This is my first time so its great to get some constructive criticism!
I can't wait to get it finished! I'm not looking forward to the fibre glassing part lol but i'm too far now to give up!

Re: My Iron Man Mark VI (pics)

Have you been working out? You look great!

Also where did you get the mannequin from? I have a few suits I need to mount!

Re: My Iron Man Mark VI (pics)

Thanks for the comments guys! Yer i got the mannequin off ebay for about £40 mate!
I actually don't like it its doing too much of a pose, i'm going to buy another one

Re: My Iron Man Mark VI (pics)

I am really liking this build. Very clean lines and it is quite far along already. I take it you are doing the regular resin/fiberglass/bondo finish when its all put together?

Thats right mate yer. I heard the Fibreglassing part is the worst part but im too far ahead to stop now lol

Re: My Iron Man Mark VI (pics)

I just finished pepping mine and put it all together. The seperate parts are being held together by tape for the tim being. The only thing I am wondering is, my lower section from the front looks a little fat. How does yours look directly from the front?

Re: My Iron Man Mark VI (pics)

Remember to work quick before it hardens... I used foam and PVA for mine, but I think the resin and filler will make a big difference. Can't wait to see some more progress!

Re: My Iron Man Mark VI (pics)

Thanks again for the comments :)

I got my little nephew to test out my Foam Gauntlets with the electronics installed. :)

Re: My Iron Man Mark VI (pics)

Its taken me forever to get the full suit pepped and resin and bodno on the helmet. I just glassed the chest with one coat not long ago but have to work the time in with life ya know. Keep it up the fight can get hard and feel like being left alone but when you hold a piece and your mind starts to race once again, renewed by the inspirational flame that started the process for you will come flooding back and you can't help but search for the tool or material needed to go the next step and before you know it you will find yourself completed and able to hold your creation up proudly ... and then start the next one! ( sorry about the run-on thought!!! lol I just picked up the hinges I cut out for my helmet and reading your thread at the same time. )

Re: My Iron Man Mark VI (pics)

Hey, any updates on the suit? My helmet is just being prepped for PVA. Giving it a couple layers of paint primer to seal it so the PVA doesn't cause it to become soggy/deform.

Re: My Iron Man Mark VI (pics)

Not much progress to be honest. (going out too much lol)

I've started the thighs and i'm hoping to have the suit finished in card real soon.
I think the Fibre glassing part should be ok, but i'm not looking forward to the Bondo part lol....

Re: My Iron Man Mark VI (pics)

looks like this took a lot of hard work and time, great job man. the foam gloves look good, your nephew's got the pose sorted out :lol

Have you had any issues with sagging parts? I have heard that the bigger piece, like the chest, if they aren't covered in resin, they tend to sag over time.

Re: My Iron Man Mark VI (pics)

Amazing ! I wish i had time to do a build myself. alas i can only see everyone else's amazing creations!
