My Iron Man Mark III Build.‏

Always steadily working away on this between other bits so I'll have an update before long. Got the lower torso all trimmed up and thighs. Working on the arms this weekend.
Took a slight break from it as I had to get my War Machine ready for an event but I'm back on this now.
Updates before long !

did the information of the paint codes ever reach the thread?

AMAZING work on the armor btw. i just started my own with pepakura.

Ok it's been a while , busy life an all that.. I've been working on cleaning up more parts although there's not much of that to do as I got a lot of my limb pieces from Finhead this time as I mentioned before.

I decided to back the pieces with Fiberglass to add a little more strength for piece of mind, baring in mind though this almost doubled up the weight of each piece as I went with a heavy Matt. So the only TMP parts to survive this build are the lower legs which I cut an inch from the front and about half an inch from the rear in width and then re drilled the detail holes back in.

A massive shout goes out to Mark (Fingaz) here on the RPF for his expertise on the paintjob as well as his general help and advice!

Enjoy the pics, more to come.

Stevo, Let me just say that I absolutely LOVE the contours of this suit! The paint job is off the charts AND enhances the beauty of the lines!
I am glad you are across the Atlantic, because everyone would run from me and my suit over to you faster than what happens when a TMP suit is across from MasterLe ::lol

Thanks very much Steve,
It was hard work convincing you to go glossy :lol persistance paid off.Coming together very nicely.
I'm looking forward to 2015 when we finally get it finished:p

fingaz iron man mk4/6

No Mate, it WILL be this year! I'll place bets on it if I have to, it's got to be done! I want to see this thing up there on display with yours at Knightcon!

Thanks Abb, yeah it is full on Automotive paint. Not my handy work though there, it's a good friend who's helping me refine the pieces after I've done the trimming and some pre clean up, Mark (Fingaz here on the RPF) has helped out a shed load , he's a body repair and painter full time , he's got his own MKIV build as well. If you look through this thread he's commented.
Next up I'll have pictures of the shoulders, hands and then chest and back are currently being worked on.
I thought your own stuff was automotive paint work too?

Yeah, I have dropped by his thread numerous times admiring his work :D
It must be great having such close friends working on their own suit to keep the motivation up.
Can't wait to see some more progress!

Heheh! Not exactly. It's all good ol' rattle-can paint.
After 4 years of practice I've finally "perfected" my technique enough to get rid of that nasty orange peel XD
I wish I had access to a body shop though...

Well I take my hat off to you if you're using Rattle cans as I've seen your finish and I was convinced it was a spray gun. Look forward to seeing more from you :)

Hey Steve how did our unibeam fit up with your suit buddy? :)

It worked out perfectly Matt, the very edges of the Unibeam V2 sit behind the chest circle but expose just the right amount of the UniBeam center, in the coming weeks I'll be placing up some pictures to show you.
So yeah, for me, it's spot on!

A few shots I took of the chest I took yesterday. More to show real soon. This build is very close to the finish line now.
