My Hoverboard Replica

Hello,

A few years ago I made a replica of the BTTF2 hoverboard.

I searched the internet for info about the right measurements
and also some guessing was involved.
Could be that I did find some info on this forum,
but I can't remember.

I tried to make it as screen accurate as possible,
I know some things aren't in the right color,
but I did my best with the materials I could find.

The board is made out of wood..

The magnet discs need some black paint on the side,
I forgot that :confused
And some sort of strip on the side of the board I'm not sure.

Let me know what you guys think.
Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Greetings,
Soxbrother

I know this is a bit off topic, but where did you get that heroes print.

Here's the link to the "Used Materials" Gallery on Flickr :

Here are the two prints I used to make the hoverboard.

The first print (left picture) I found a few years ago

and then I recreated the print with screenshots from the movie (right picture)
to make it as accurate as possible.

These are leftovers from the materials I used :

I printed it out on normal paper A4 in about 4 pieces I think,
then I cut it out the materials.

I want that and your hoverboard:lol

I'm sorry but I'm keeping it :rolleyes:cool

Thanks for the nice comments.

The board needs some updating.

A better lenticular honeycomb pattern,
that's more screenaccurate would be nice,
if I can find it.

First thing I'll update is the magnet discs,
the sides need to be painted black.

Where did you get the rotating display hooks? Is that something you made yourself?

Thanks,
Jamie

No I didn't make it myself.

It's actually a wallpaper roller

I removed the handle and then made screw thread on it for the "wing-nut"

You can see clearly on this picture.

It was a bit tricky to mount it on the wall because
the tail of the hoverboard is in a different angle.

Soxbrother.

The hanging mechanism was really ingenious... If I had a wood board, my Pitbull is foam, I would totally set something up like that.
