My home made GB costume in local paper for halloween.

Re: Ghosterbusters costume for under $300.00 Possible? started work on proton gun.

Thanks for the input, I am hoping my sound board will come this week then I can start playing around with it. Maybe small speaker in the gun and large in the pack that way sound from both the large speaker will make up for the small one.
I also have a small motor with an off set weight on it, when you switch it on because the weight is off set it makes the motor shake. I am thinking maybe putting that in the gun that way when you fire the gun it will shake and give some feel to it.

Re: Ghosterbusters costume for under $300.00 Possible?

well the patch's I bought from someone on ebay they were highly reckomended to me both here and at the GBfans website. eBay My World - katarra8 this link should take you to her ebay store.

Hey, she looks familiar... would she possibly be Kathy Pillsbury?

If so, I got an Imperial Officer's hat and some Imperial patches from her a long time ago... ironically it was for repurposing a Dickie's grey jumpsuit originally bought as a Ghostbusters costume.

ok, you're my new Hero.
Thank you for proving this was possible.
I wanted to tackle this next year with my gf for halloween and you certainly proved this 150% possible

I didn't even know you were working on this. I'm so blown away.

I can't believe how great this turned out.
This needs/deserves more recognition. :thumbsup

Re: Ghosterbusters costume for under $300.00 Possible? started work on proton gun.

Thanks man, when you start yours if you need any help I would be more then hapy to share with you the do's and don't's that I have learned.
I am also working on a full turtorial on my web site.
Thanks again for the great compliments. Now I just need to get a trap and PKE meter built and I will be ready for the RPF halloween costume competition.

Re: Ghosterbusters costume for under $300.00 Possible? started work on proton gun.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! Seriously, you rock!

Awesome, wonderful, stunning electronics on top of an amazing foam build. Truly epic! :):thumbsup

Re: Ghosterbusters costume for under $300.00 Possible? started work on proton gun.

:eek that. is. awesome! great job.

with all that savings on the pack you can go grab a matty ghost trap, that is, unless you wanted to put us all to shame with a foam trap! :lol

Re: Ghosterbusters costume for under $300.00 Possible? started work on proton gun.

Heck yes..I love the ghostbusters..your proton packs look excellent!! SWEET!!

Re: Ghosterbusters costume for under $300.00 Possible? started work on proton gun.

LOL, unfortunately it isn't so much that I saved money I just didn't have to find money lol. I am still poor. And yes I am starting tonight on a foam trap. this one wont have lights as it will be just a quick thing to hang on my belt to go trick or treating with. But I will be working on a foam one with lights. I was also thinkng of making my son's open so he can put his treats in when he goes trick or treating.

Thanks for the kind words, nice to know so many people like my work.

Re: Ghosterbusters costume for under $300.00 Possible? started work on proton gun.

Nice! Will you be selling these? I also may try to make one.

Definitely will be asking you some stuff when I get to this

I'm sure your tutorial will cover this all any ways, so I won't break your balls :$

Re: Ghosterbusters costume for under $300.00 Possible? started work on proton gun.

I appreciate you not breaking my balls lol, and so does my wife, (nice to know I have my uses still). But honestly please ask away whenever you need I love helping out.
As for selling them, I would gladly make one for anyone who wants. I can do just the frame out of foam or do a complete pack.

I wanted to see how close to an actual prop I had built this thing, so I got my proton gun housing (I got it in the PIF thread) and helded it next to the foam one I had bought to see how close my measurements were. I was actualy pretty impressed with how close I got it.

I'm very encouraged by how much of the Ghostbusters rig can be obtained through the local hardware store
