My GROOT wip

Doing some more painting today... I'm not going for total movie accuracy... I want him very recognizable from the movie but with a bit more comic book feel...

Happy with the painting so far. First time ever painting something this big. Using the same techniques I use on wargame miniatures :) Lots of dry brushing.

The top I wanted to look like a stump.

Next up is to glue on some moss :)

have you done any more on the suit and why did you cover it in glue?
I haven't done more on the suit yet... Wanted to finish the mask first.

I covered it with watered down white glue as a base for the paint. The foam would have absorbed it otherwise.

Mannequin is set up in my hobby room and ready to begin the long process of looking like a tree :)

Entering a busy couple if weeks at work so I probably won't be able to put the time in it I would like :(

Picked up some tubing to start the body... This is water pipe insulation. $2 a piece. Will need a lot more. This is just to get started.

Buy the Pre-slit - polyethylene tubes not the self sealing they are cheaper and easier to work with.
