This is a large pre-painted resin statue, by Unifive. An incredible sculpt of the 1954 "original" Goji.

is that marking on his foot a 50th anniversary type deal. I know this year marks 50 years for the big guy. they are gonna make one more movie this december and then its all over again. no more godzilla movies, they cant come up with anything new and fanbase in japan hasnt gone up so they are gonna shelve the godzilla world once again, they WILL however get the remaining godzilla movies that have been made over here for dvd release. so be on the lookout at bestbuy for them.

Yep! The big guy is 50!

Still stompin' tho.

And you're right, I'd heard that the next is the last for the original films. I can't believe they'll put him away forever tho... he'll be on ice for a few years, but I bet he'll be back again someday...

And you know, I've been puzzling over what version this new Godzilla I've got is supposed to be!

It sort of looks like the close-up puppet used in a couple of scenes in the 1954 film... and he's close to the "Tohosaurus" prototype maquette, too I think.

In any event he captures that mysterious "essence of Goji" I had been looking for!

BTW, does anybody know if we'll EVER see a restored, Japanese version of the original 1954 "Gojira" on DVD here in the states? Or is it available in another region, but with English subtitles?

All you can get domestically is the chopped up U.S. "Godzilla King of the Monsters" cut, starring Raymond Burr as Steve Martin...

I have a japanese dvd of the 1984 godzilla without raymond burr. no english but since godzilla dont talk I aint worried. if you look under godzilla dvd only on e-bay they are coming out here and there. another great pic by the way.

Thanks... and yeah I saw where there was the Japanese DVD... with no subtitles tho, that's a bummer.

I think yuji sakai is gonna do a 2004 and that will be the last of the godzilla models for awhile. he did some great small stautes for the last movie that came out.kayiodo has all but quit any godzilla projects.
