My first pepakura.red hood and the outlaws.

The finished file looks great! For your first pep you did a really great job. You definitely seam like you have a nack for it. I'm glad the wider helmet fits your head. I've been sending the wider helmet to people because if your head is like mine then it takes a big helmet to fit over top.

The ab section looks great. Nice shapes but I'm not sure about how to round the edges. I know that one member developed a method of sealing the foam then coating it with urethane resin over top. Maybe if you do that you can build up enough urethane resin to sand the edges down? Or when you are coating it you can rotate the foam piece to get it to smooth out with the urethane resin.....? Anyway he has a youtube video up on how to do it. Here's the vid link.

Good luck and keep up the good work!

LOL!!! Nice answer to your own question:)
You are able to sand the edges before adding the glue, put the foam in your freezer for a few hours and take out one piece at a time to sand it. You can also get it a little wet before freezing it but don't stack them as they will freeze together, then let them dry thoroughly before adding the glue sealer.. Good luck.

Judge Spartan I'm going to try putting three watered down coats of glue. I'm hoping it will give me close to the water and freeze method you recommended. Will be trial and error. Thanks for the input. BlackKaos thanks for nice comments it means a lot since it's your design.

Here is a pic of it waxed and on my head. Then in the case it sits in with a custom figure I started. The armor is kicking my *****. I coated the foam and it is curling like a potato chip.

The BlackKaos file red hood v3. He posted on this at the top of page 2. Was $15 and well worth it. Ya now that it is done and the armor is giving me a hard time I have no idea what to do with it. I guess airbrushing for over 20 years helps sometimes.

I am seriously going to ask you this, but what would it cost for you to build one of those? I have considered building it myself or commissioning someone to do one for me.

It cost me.
$15 file
$20 bondo
$20 fiberglass
$10 primer
$20 card stock
$6 crazy glue
$50 sander
$10 Paint
Total $151 with basic paint.
Add somewhere about $60 for the amount of kandy and mirra chrome.
The look in my display case PRICELESS!!!

And of course that is not counting the labor cost that went into all the work. I only ask because I'd love to have one like yours for my cosplay but I can't imagine you would want to do another one?

Nope sorry took a month or so of time at work an hour a day. So I guess my work paid me to make it. LOL. But that was only because I suck at bondo so tons of thin layers and waiting for them to dry. but sanding each layer to keep the shape but make the mask round.

That is an excellent Red Hood and an even more excellent first try at pep. I hope I am as good when I start my Captain America shield build o_O
