My Doctor Who Prop collection

It sounds like it's just about time to buy one of those blu-ray drives for my computer. Darn newfangled technology.

I know. I'm gonna have to bite the bullet on that one too. Hopefully they sell cheap external USB ones, it's either that or a notebook drive which will probably be seriously spendy.

Failing that I'll just download a 1080p copy (I figure it's fine if I've paid for it anyway) just so I can get some prop/costume screenshots.

awesome collection you've got there Risu! My Doctor Who addiction just went critical and I started researching props and replicas here just now, it's great to see there's other maniacs, too :)

Risu, am I seeing right that the All*Star logo on the back has been removed? If so, can you tell how they did it? Some sort of solvent, or just fine sandpaper, maybe?

It looks to me like it was just ripped off, they might have used something to get the glue to break down, but it didn't stain the canvas if they did. The shoe is actually very nearly torn at what looks like the point where they started peeling. Must have been difficult.

Sorry... I wasn't referring to the round ankle logos, I meant where it says All*Star on the heel. Should have been more clear.

Oh, oops, yea it's just worn off. Not even sure how much effort the BBC had to put into that, they could have been nearly gone already.

Hey Risu, where oh where did you find the boxy tie? I've wanted that one ever since I started putting together my 'ten' costume. It's by far my favorite.

I found it on Amazon, but there were only 3. With some help from another member here who can out himself if he'd like, I'm going to be helping Magnoli reproduce it as perfectly as possible.

When did the Doctor wear that particular tie?

I just received two new pieces for my collection today that I've wanted for a really long time, so I thought I'd take some new pictures.

And even though I haven't done any modding and its a bad picture, here's one from a couple weeks ago.

Great collection! Looks like the Chameleon Arch Watch and the water pistol are the new ones.

What are the Tennant 10 pound notes from?

Oops, I must have missed the thread the last time it was bumped.

For those who care ... that would be me. I found the tie in the correct brown colorway and will be meeting up with Mr Risu to get the perfect fabric to send off to Magnoli. We've already sent scans and pictures of our ties to him.

When did the Doctor wear that particular tie?

According to pumpkiny's research:

Making My Tennant Suit: Tenth Doctor Tie Index

First seen in: Love And Monsters

Also seen in: Army Of Ghosts (see right), Doomsday, Smith And Jones. The Shakespeare Code, Gridlock, Fires of Pompeii (see above), The Family Of Blood (see below), Turn Left, The Stolen Earth, Planet Of The Dead

Yeah, I added up the episodes and it was Tennants most worn (brown suit) tie. So it's pretty cool to own it :D

I'm still keeping an eye out for the right water pistol. I know the name of it and what-not. Just having a hard time finding one. Saw a blue/orange one not long ago but let it go. I'd rather have it in the right colors.

So the helmet finally came? Damn that's so awesome. Definitely looking forward to any kind of pics, info, dims, build thread on that one. It looks awesome.

Actually, the two new items are the water pistol and the TARDIS key. I've had the fob watch for a while, I'm just not allowed to tell the story behind it. I didn't buy it direct from the source, though.

The 10 pound notes are from the paper prop section here. whitehammer was nice enough to upload some very high res scans of the 10 and 20, I just haven't gotten around to printing any 20's yet.

After Halloween sometime I'll start up a build thread for the helmet. The first step is to add the extra segments at the nape and ears, and then I'll definitely need some help identifying greeblies.

OMG, where did you get the water pistol?!? I have been searching for one with no success (especially the right colors).

I got it from a friend who picked up more than one when they were originally identified way back. He can out himself if he'd like, but I don't want to be responsible for filling up his PM box.

I was actually surprised by the size of the gun, the grip is large enough to hold it easily, not really tiny like most water pistols I've seen.

I'd love to get my hands on a proper yellow/blue one. I've been searching daily, for months now. Still no luck. One day ... *sigh*.
