Re: My 'Doctor Octopus' Build (Raimi Film Version)

I always loved how Doc Ock was done in that film, as he was never a real favourite with me from the start, but that film version is wicked. The foam looks fantastic and I do hope you'll make them at least somewhat animatronic! With the talent on this board, I'm sure you can find someone to help you out with that end and they'd be just that much more amazing!
Good luck and thanks for sharing this!

Re: My 'Doctor Octopus' Build (Raimi Film Version)

I'm very sorry folks, but I am ceasing to use this community.

theRPF has 'reposted' my images after I shared them from my Facebook page thus stripping them of all credits. 're-Sharing' my image would have sufficed, and given me the encouragement to undertake my next project. I can't condone this ill mannered activity.

We are either all in this hobby together, or not at all.

Good luck everyone!

Incredible. What is the total weight of the rig?

Re: My 'Doctor Octopus' Build (Raimi Film Version)

Thanks!

The rig is approx 5kg. Its about the same in fact as the leather jacket and overcoat!

How do you walk around with that on? Are the arms still adjustable or are they static in the position? Either way, it looks absolutely fantastic!

They are mostly static(they twist a little). I had planned to make them more posable, but ran out of time! ...its something to work on :)

The whole things is super light, about 5kg I'd estimate. There is some sway in the arms when walking, but its just enough that the arms look alive, and not too much. Biggest problem I foresee is moving through a crowd, but this is expected and we have made arrangements to avoid this problem. We'll be mostly static and leave any photoshoots until things quiet down.
sp1derman, that sounds so sweet dude! I'll keep me eyes peeled for you :)
