My custom MFX sonic screwdriver stand (WIP)

I plan on making an entire display, however here is the stand. I understand why MFX went cheap with the stand, but it is rather boring, so here is my custom stand, (It's still a WIP) I plan to do a display case with a whole bottom lit LED display.

I want to make some sort of boxes to store mine in. Something that makes it seem like it would be what the doctor would store his in. Maybe wooden.

Right now I'm working on a bell jar to display a custom Tom Baker sonic a friend of mine made me out of solid brass.

I have a guy that will acid etch the Prydonian seal onto a brass plate for the base like that company that's making the licensed 4th Doctor sonic did, only brass.

I cheated! It's a MR mini lightsaber stand with the silk screening 'goof off' offed and wet sanded to a dull finish. The logo is printed, laminated and foam mounted on the base. I'm looking into getting a plastic or metal one made up for it though. Thanks for the kind words.

Looks like it was made to hold it, def. a great idea. Half my stuff is just sitting on a surface. These stands always give the pieces the respect they deserve.

Nice. I actually want to get a custom case for mine, long enough so it can be displayed open. I'm just debating on whether to make the height of the case just high enough to accommodate the MFX stand, or to give it some extra height for a possible MR-sized plaque >_<

I would check with some local silk screening shops that do t-shirts. Also, check with some plaque makers here on RPF. I think PastorJedi does some custom plaques for his lightsabers, he may be able to hook you up.

What type of glasses are those? The lens shape is really accurate.

The glasses were a street-vender find by someone in NYC and they were offered (in both clear or sunglass lenses) on the dw_cosplay group on LiveJournal.
