Heh - this is my first post; I've been lurking about for a bit.
I have to say, your paint job and work on the stenciling is really great. A lot of the stenciling work, as you stated, on many of the TFA helmets is usually too big (if you're talking about screen accuracy). What did you use for your stenciling system to get those nice, crisp lines?
Also, in a lot of the pics online and looking at the film on blu-ray, the "A" and the wings don't seem to be pure white or at least, not painted onto the helmet completely opaque so they don't appear pure white - they're appearance seems be just off white a bit (I'm sure this a discussion that has been already had at some point). Curious to know what you think.
Thanks for the nice words, yes I made sure the sizing and shape of the wings was correct, it's the little details that makes the big difference, for me anyways, I printed mine to correct size using movie stills then transferred the printed wings onto green painters tape which I hand trimmed my stencil applied on helmet and airbrushed, the line are super crisp, a bit of a challenge when painting on soft urethane rubber but the green painters tape worked well, had the perfect tack without pulling the paint off, I guess my many years of experience in model painting paid off LOL. IN order to achieve that off white is to apply thin coeat to give it that faded look also the movie helmet was weathered quite a bit so the white is really dirty. in person the white on my helmet is way more faded, the flash makes it look a little too bright. I will post more photo with new accurate buckles I just added and no flash.
