I recently came across this jacket while out shopping. I was SO surprised to find it, and at the almost-a-steal price of $3. I can now _almost_ officially confirm, that by the existence of this, Marty's jacket was a Guess? brand. It is SO close to his. It's got the two-tone upper/lower sections, snaps, elastic waist; pockets and cuffs are different, but easily changed.
It's too bad it's a Small, but it'll give me plenty of reference to custom make/alter one.

The exact jacket has been confirmed for years and it is a Guess Marciano
Denim coat....No big news there

Yeah the jacket was a guess marciano, and the jeans that Marty wears in the movie were from marciano too
