My all-steel Mjolnir build (from Thor: The Dark World)

There were quite a few different versions made for this movie from foam through to metal, so I think you can pretty much play around with whatever you think looks best. I must congratulate you on your work.

Hmmm, as I near completion I'm pondering what sort of finish I leave on the hammer. A dull or a shiny silver?

If you watch the video on the making of the actual hammer, it's clearly a very shiny silver base with some weathering done to it:

But any shots from the movies show it to be very very dull (but with shiny rings on the handle still, which makes sense):

I'm thinking of going with the dull look for the body of the hammer, since that seems to be accurate to the movies. I'm guessing maybe they redid the paint after the video was made, because there's definitely not a ton of black around the runes as shown in the video either. Any thoughts?

I am not shore how i missed this but your hammer turned out Perfect. It really makes me want to make another one.

Thanks, I'm pretty proud of it! It's gonna be a long while before I do another one unless someone wants to commission it. It pretty much consumed my life for 3 months :D

I made a stand out of black obsidian and took some better pictures along the way, here are a couple:

Incredible! It's a shame you couldn't get $4000 for it. The difficulty and skill level of this kind of metalwork is very rare. Even the Man at Arms version of Mjolnir didn't turn out this nicely.

Thanks! Unfortunately it's a very niche market and I'm not a well-known maker so oh well, it is what it is. It would take more cash to make another one, that's for sure. I usually sell my first versions for pretty cheap.
