My 2nd suit WIP

After Yautja Sai'Kon posted the link to Vinman's Great Stuff pred foot post, I was reminded how cool of an idea it was. So, after exchanging some pm's with Vinman, I took the leap and tore my old feet off and started the new ones. I used my old base and just sprayed the Great Stuff all around it, after it hardened I sculpted to my heart's desire. They are still not done though, as I need to add the side and back claws. My major concern was durability and getting a toe broke off, but after it hardened and cured I have no more worries :) Thsi really is an awesome way to make some good feet, I am already 100% happier with these than my last. I am also waiting on a small test piece of DAP Acrylic Latex Caulk Plus Silicone mixed with water and acrylic paint to dry so I can see if we might have another alternate cheap way of making a flexible paint (credit to Vinman for the idea, I just added the paint). So, here are the pics for your viewing delight

:) You continue to go the extra mile bro.....when its all said and done,you....like Bovine will have a suit that alot of people will look to for inspiration.GREAT JOB

Yo guys, sorry for the lack of updates....I have been in a slump like no other, finals and work have been kicking my a$$. On the bright side, school is over till September, so I have my Tuesdays and Wednesdays back so I will no longer be tired as hell and will be able to put some more hours in on the suit. Gonna try and order 1 quart of latex this Wednesday to finish off the feet and also gonna tie-up loose ends on the skin and start the armor.....So yeah, anybody reading have a great Memorial Day/Race Weekend!!

Sorry it's been a while since my last picture update. I got a new phone and do not have a data cable, the pics won't show up in my e-mail, so I have to use Snapfish to obtain them until I get a data cable LOL. Now that that is out of the way, I have taken a nod from Bovine's thread and am placing my armor on my hanging suit to get a better idea of how it looks. What you see is my shoulder bells and one of the thigh armors. You can't get a real good look from this pic (will upload better ones soon), but I have tried to make the armor look as close to the model's as I can. I used 3/8" and 1/2" backer rod from Lowes for the rounded parts. It looks tons better in person and has a bumpy texture (that you can't see in the pics ) Anyway, comments are always welcome, thanks for looking!

Ok, so I was lookin at the right thigh armor before I went to work this morning (bout 5:45am lol) and decided I did not like it one bit. It deviated too much from the one that is on the model, so I took a better look at the model and remade the piece.

I am much happier with it now :)

--the drawing it is laying on is my finished final for drafting class

Latest "*quick*" pic of my belt, I used the same method for the bumps and tried to sculpt a skull out of super sculpey...not that great looking, but had fun making the skull though. The belt isn't exact, but it has a lot of the same main features, it just has way too many details. Along the sides where the backer rod ends, is where the "butt" armor connects. Will probably start that journey next.

Sorry it's been a while since an udate, I have been working on it, jsut been very busy and also lazy (with the pics), but here is a side view of my cannon resting on the arms. The arms are glued in position, I didn't want the cannon sitting next to my head and causing a problem with dreads and me turning my head. It will velcro to my back and will also have the leather style straps to hold her snug to me. Let me know what you think

Ok, it's been a long time since an update....I have moved into a new house and am frantically trying to make Gen-Con this satruday....not sure if I will make it though......Most of armor is in first stages of paint, skin is finished (may change muscle pattern if time allows), have to finish the feet, make my straps and feet wrap from the pleather vinyl I picked up from Jo-Ann fabric......and that should be it, most of everything fits as I planned. Hope you guys enjoy and comments are appreciated....Thanks!!

I like the belt/cod. That backpack looks like it may give you some problems. It being so tall I mean.

Hey Man Hows this suit coming along?
