MSE-6 Mouse Droid Build

Awesome! I have quite a few of those RC cars laying around. I'm definitely going to have to give this a go soon.

Cheers mate.

Finally some more progress. Ordered all the greebie components. Mostly from Hong Kong via eBay. Maybe AUD$350 for my cancelled Moncal order, down to about A$70 for absolutely everything. Bargain!

Started by cutting down the Boards

A lick of paint before I start sticking stuff on

And right

I did make some sacrifices with exact placement and sizes due to my 80% build, but it's pretty close.

Side pieces out of 1mm sheet styrene

Which will go about here

And that's about where I'm at

Ive got a smaller build going as well. Would you be willing to send me a link to your kit?
Thanks!

Sorry mate, what "kit"? The only kit I bought was the RC Car chassis. Everything else has been custom designed.

Sorry, guess I misunderstood what you meant by your order of greeblie components. Didn't realize it was à la cart.

Ah yes, initially I ordered the Moncal kit of greeblies, but after 6 months of changing goalposts, I got my money back there, then researched and ordered the components separately.

There was a guy selling 10 sets of the IC Sockets for like $50- on Astromech.net and they went like that! Mine cost me about $8- or something ridiculous... Crazy!

Top Greeblies! Admittedly not quite 100% accurate, but quite reasonable and a lot better than some I've seen if I do say so myself :)

Frames. I thought it would be easier out of styrene, rather than metal/aluminium

Main cylinders

Group of 3 little thingo tubes

Resistors underneath

And skipping a few progress shots, the finished product

And I think I'm done, will install onto shell and paint over the next few days

Looking good! I am going to have top racks 3D printed and then I'll be done with mine.

Wow, that'll be interesting. I've seen a few E-11 cylinders 3D printed, so I guess it's just 3 of them plus the others 2 main types of cylinders, oh, and the bottom detail. That'll be a big detailed design - you doing the design yourself?

Tiny P. did a 3D model of them. I don't have a 3D printer, but I have access to one to get them done. Some of the parts won't successfully print, but the bulk is all there. I think a mix of both will help sell them as scratch built.

Amazing build

Would it be a bother if I asked for list of your greeblies part I would mind order the same ones for my build
