Instead, they're offering a straight 10 percent discount.

From their reconfigured site, which has just gone online:
The Benefits Last year, we offered you $300 in coupons, to be used on specific product categories (i.e. $100 off of a Studio Scale Replica, $30 off a Force FX Lightsaber, etc.) This year, we have done away with coupons completely...and replaced them instead with an all-encompassing 10% off* of ALL items released by Master Replicas, beginning January 1, 2007 and ending on December 31, 2007. This year, there's no limit to how much you can save - the more you buy, the more you save. Put your 10% discount to work FOR YOU. [/b]
{EDIT}
The 10% will be applied to any Master Replicas product purchased during your membership period - regardless of when it was released.[/b]

Interesting -

"A minimum of TWO Exclusive Limited Edition products – available only to 2007 Members. For 2007, the CS exclusives will NOT be Elite Editions, but rather entirely new products. (More details on this, to be announced…)"

Yeah, seems like a better deal now. This current year I only used the Force FX coupon. There wasn't anything else I wanted or could afrod.

10%?
Has there been an item in the past 3 years that you couldnt find at least 20% cheaper than the MR price elsewhere?

Well, CS exclusives, the day of launch, direct off the website. Tough to find them at a lower price. You can always wait and see if the prices come down or if they get released to authorized retailers.

EDITED: OK, I'm an idiot. User error. :rolleyes[/b]
I didn't see what your original post said, but I can guess: The site wouldn't accept your purchases? You didn't log in before trying to put something in your shopping cart?

My guess is based on my own experience. It took me three or four tries before realizing there was a prompt telling me to log in before shopping. :p

For those of you who haven't used the site yet: You'll need to log into your account, or create a new one (free), in order to put things into your shopping cart. If you don't log in first, your cart will remain at zero no matter how many times you click "Add to Cart."

At first, I thought something was wrong with the site. :angel

Excellent guess. ;)

I thought I had logged in, but was getting my password wrong. The only feedback I had was that the login boxes had a faint red outline. Once I figured out that I wasn't really logging in, I was ok.

Exactly... :lol

10% ain't much. [/b]
True. On the other hand, on a big-ticket item it can add up to a nice chunk of dough. For example, on the Falcon SE (MR price $2,799), the discount comes close to $300... three times what would have been possible in the best case under the old coupon system. It's a positive change for CS members. :thumbsup

But it's much safer to buy directly from MR than from some bozo at eBay.[/b]
That's for sure. :)
