MR TOS Enterprise - new pics

I received mine and the shjip looked pretty much perfect - a couple of very super-picky nits, but the lights did not function. I hated to send it back but what are you goanna do if the lights don't work and you paid so much for it... I'm REALLY hoping the replacement is as good as the first "model"-wise. As a static Model it was absolutely awesome... but not worth over a G... with the lights working it was definitely worth the moola...

That.... really.... SUCKS.

Been there done that, but only the bridge lights, and at least it wasnt a perfect ship.

There should be ZERO lighting failures.

NONE. No amount of shipping trauma should cause that kind of failure.

I get pissed right along with you guys everytime I read about something like this.

Docked last night....

she's... utterly... perfect.

I feel so terribly guilty... with the issues out there... the chips... the mis-aligned grids... but this baby... she's perfection to my eyes. I am thrilled beyond repair... it's very hard to tear myself away from it... and to stop shooting pics... but I gotta work.... so I have the Art Asylum / Diamond Direct one downstairs in the studio... and it too is totally sweet....

Here's a glimpse of the Big E...

my gratitude to Barry and the entire MR team... I'm thrilled...

Congratulations R.

I'm so pleased you are happy - as you started this thread and have waited sooooo long.

Howard.

Congratulations. I am also very happy with mine, and relieved not to have many issues.
Take more pictures.

I am very pleased to hear that yet another collector has received a flawless piece. Congrats.

Upon reviewing the amount of "good" deliveries vs. the "bad" deliveries, I decided to re-order the beastie two days ago on April 3. As I have posted before,.. I had cancelled my order (an order placed at the day and minute they were avaliable to the CS) due to their handling of the quality issues with the units that were sent out at that time. It appears that much of it has been fixed now and I look toward forwarding relations with MR once again. They continue to be a fine company and have their share of problems like any company out there.

So, MR claims it is shipping my beastie today. I am looking forward to having it in the collection.

I will also be commissioning a 2nd Pilot version soon after WF to go along side MR's Production version for design difference clarity.

Once again rhboyd,... CONGRATULAIONS on finally recieving your piece. ;)

thanks guys... thanks Howard... yeah... seems like SO long ago those first pics came out... to be honest... Until she arrived safe and sound I was so nervous... what if it was damaged... or didn't work... or worse... what if the over-hype killed the moment for me... and thankfully, none of those came to pass.

Khun... I'm glad you re-ordered... my hopes are with you.

For me, it's another stop on a very long and interesting road... that I hope never ends...

cheers,
-r.

Congratulations. Even with slight blemishes, it's hard not to be really impressed with this beautiful model. Sadly, I had to pack mine away on Monday for a while until I work out some space to display her properly. :(

Has anyone had issues with the back side of the saucer section? It maybe just the way it is. :confused
BigE.jpg

I just got my replaceemnt base and am looking over the E but there appears to be a dark grey stripe airbrushed above the markings on the port warp nacelle, is this normal "weathering" if so mines a bit heavy but liveable, the shuttle bay has a paint drip on the lip over it, It makes me believe the engineering section is hung vertically to dry and the flaws we see are from paint being sprayed too heavily and dripping , this couldve been fixed at the factory with sandpaper a dowel rod and some paint, if the "stripe" is supposed to be there I'm thinkig I'm keeping this one, even with the "flaws"she still looks great

That's pretty much normal for everyone.

o.k. here is the mark, is it normal?, also my nacelles paint at the tips where they were masked are not perfect but I can live with it, someone at MRs factory needs to tell them that after you mask off a part, after painting lightly scoring around the masking tape with a sharp x-acto knife will avoid these uneven lines, again, if the mark on the port nacelle is weathering, all the other flaws to me are "nitpicky" so far and I think she's a keeper hooray.....

DarkKnight,
The mark is normal. I would have been happy if they had left this off of the model but apparently most if not all of them that I have seen displayed on this and other forums have that mark, including the one I sent back.

I think the "collision mark" on the nacelle is a little like the grid lines. Depending on which "artist" on the line made yours determines what you get. My "collision mark" is so light you can barely notice it. Just like my grid lines. Not too dark...not too light...just right. Your mark is much darker than mine...but I wouldn't but upset if it were mine. My impulse drive is similar to yours, but it looks a lot worse when I take photos of it with flash. To the naked eye, it's not so bad.

I have my Big E displayed on top of my Entertainment Center. My problem is turning the unit on and off. I ran accross this on SurplusComputers.com - Remote Controlled switch socket. They also have it at Geeks.com. If someone thinks it might damage the electronics, please let me know. I have a three pack on order.

She's docked...in perfect condition.:D

I re-ordered her last Tuesday 4/3, it shipped out that Thursday 4/5, and I have in here on Monday 4/9. Only six days from re-order to my hands. Very nice indeed. :D

I must compliment MR/Corgi on their attention to detail with this piece as well as their Falcon. The price point on these beasties are well below what they could have charged for the quality received. I have received less quality before this for more cost from others I assure you.

I noticed that the enclosed invoice is now CORGI International Ltd titled with MR only listed as a website. We may be looking at the infamouse slow name changeover one day soon...lololol.

I.E.

Costco and Price Club
Price Costco
and then Costco once again... with the Price Club name forgotten.

Maybe Corgi won't waste time on that...lol. It's possible too that the MR tag can stay as a marking of the finer listed things that CORGI now represents.

I.E.

Best Buy
Magnolia

LOLOLOL... I am babbling now... ;)

I received #52 of the Limited Edition.

I am EXTREMELY PLEASED with what I recieved and it will be displayed proudly along side other 350 scale TOS projects and starships. :D

Thanks you once again Master Replicas. EXCELLENT JOB...

LOL.. Thank you. I am happy that I re-ordered. You guys helped me in that decision. ;) Thank You.

I may take some to go along with the other SFX pic thread, but not today...lol. Maybe soon though. ;)

This is a GREAT piece isn't it?. :p I am very pleased indeed. :D

Congratulations on your acquisition of a perfect E . . . lord knows I'm pining for mine.

Hopeful that my replacement will be minus the problems the first one had. Dare I wish for perfection . . . I have my fingers crossed.

Blame the collision mark on the giant space amoeba. :lol
