Karl, I'm almost afraid to ask you to do this but...

A while back you did a FANTASTIC compare study between the Unobtainium E and stock photos of the original filing miniature which clearly showed the MANY design issues from which that ill-fated project suffered. I wonder if you would consider doing a similar compare set for the MR E when you receive it (assuming that that last cryptic message indicates that you are in fact due to recieve one soon).

I guess that to do it right you'd have to also post the Unobtainium compare shots to illustrate the improvements that MR has made over the last (supposedly) mass produced 1/350 ship.

I am quite confident that the MR version will kick the ULTD ship's backside, but I'm still a little worried that your compare shots have at least some potential to take what I consider a nearly perfect model and show some dents in the armour, but *sigh* I've just got to know..

Thanks,
-QGF

Fantastic soundtrack.

Just received mine - about an hour ago.
:cry It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Grid lines are perfect, minimal weathering.

Now I just need to find a U.S. to U.K. adaptor to test the lights.
Can any U.K. members point me in the right direction please?

Pics to follow when I get time...

Howard.

For those of you who already have your ship...a question.

After your status went from processing to shipped, how long did it take until you received it. Please state what type of shipping you had (standard, express, etc.). I curious as to how long the wait may be. 1 day? 2 days? 5 days? 14 days?

After the website showed it as shipped, I got a shipping notice after that. Maybe the next day but I got one eventually.

Took about a week, I think, to get it to my front door.

Mine took about a week, standard shipping. DHL had posted the estimated delivery date for a Monday, I got it the Friday before.

Howard, try www.Maplin.co.uk or rswww.com

Thanks SAS.

I couldn't get out today - looking after our baby and I had to pick up our son from school - but a friend of mine took down the details over the phone and picked up an adaptor from Maplin for me and dropped it over around and hour ago, along with his jawbone. He's a huge TOS fan also.
Anyway, it's just a shaving adaptor - £2.

The lights work perfectly. I'll post pics tomorrow as it's a little late to set everything up now.

Both times the expected delivery date that DHL gave me was accurate by the way.

hey guys,
mine is on the way.. YA HOOOO

do we need to be there to sign for it?
[/b]

Yes. Though I suppose you could call them and ask not to.

I would NOT recommend letting a $1200+ collectible sit on your doorstep though.
It says what it is all over the box. Way too tempting to a thief.
I suppose you could arrange to pick it up at a DHL facility too.

I didn't have to sign for mine, I got home from work to find it on my doorstep. Of course, it could be that the driver just didn't want to haul that big monster back down the stairs.

does anyone have the dimensions of the shipping box??? I don't know wether it will fit in my car for the trip home from the office. Might need to borrow a truck.
