MR TOS Enterprise - new pics

So in what way is having product manufactured in China supposed to be good for your company? Am I missing something here? :confused

I've said it before.

Don't pre-order stuff.

Wait until it's available to look at before you buy it.

This cycle will never stop until people stop layong down their money for vaporware.

Well, at least that confirms one thing we were wondering about: the plaques are married with the ships overseas.
[/b]

They would have to be. It's all packed up in China and ready to ship out when they get here. That's why there is nobody looking at them in the USA before they go to customers. And wow - I'm one of the lucky 49, or unlucky depending on how my Enterprise ends up looking.

That's way to high, try nothing.
That's what happens when you use slave labor.
After all China is a communist nation, there you have no rights.
And 'YOU' are property of the state.
People are all up in arms over child labor.
But when people are worked to death(including children) in China, that's OK.

People say it's changing over there, those of us that lived through the Cold war,
know communists put a false face on things. China is no different.

Funny story,
As many of you know I did the paint masters of the Falcon for MR...So there I am working on these thing and this little baby spider crawls out of the model, I flicked it off. They several minutes later, another...well I thought it was the same one...flicked it off...then here it comes again...so...I got a piece of tape and stuck him to it then threw it away...THEN ANOTHER.... well this model had these little baby spiders in it...FROM CHINA...so your mind starts wondering, do they have any giant poisonous spiders in China...and what if I just introduced these alien arachnids to my home in Penn Hills PA, USA and they kill hundreds of people... Like the movie Arachnophobia....

Well they did not...thank GOD... But it was creepy...who knows what you all might get in your boxes from China with your MR products YUCK....

Yeah I do know that. But is it worth it with all the added shipping expense, the quality issues, the spiders...

A number of years ago, I was at a subcontractors shop one of his other customers was talking quality issues with China. The guy told us that it was far cheaper to have the parts made here. With all of the quality issues they were suffering.
Even worse they had material stolen, and substituted with a poor grade. The guy made pedals for Harley's, I think there is a safety issue there.

After all of the quality issues I'm seeing, MR is in real trouble. Not only do they have to fix the defects. They have a huge PR hurdle to get over. They are loosing money by the day, and none of us know what is going on behind the scenes. We might be seeing the beginning of the end of MR.
It's the curse of the Enterprise.

I'll bet guys are keeping them defects and all, if they return them there is a possibility they will never see then again.

I got the e-mail that mine is shipping. If I find any defects I will post pics. Then return it MR.

I've heard some horror stories from toy manufacturers as well. On one toy line (revival of the Micronauts), they sent a guy over to oversee and approve the first shots. Soon as he left, the factory subcontracted the job to another one that used inferior raw material. Result: poor quality first wave of toys (many broken right in the package), angry customers, and the cancellation of the line, for which there had been at least a couple more waves planned.

It doesn't sound like MR has someone on the floor to keep an eye on QC first hand, and that is maddeningly perplexing. You can tell the factory what you want all day long, but nothing compares having someone there to show them exactly what is expected.

Amen, brother.

That's the funniest thing I've read all day.
:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

Did anyone else receive their shipping notice today?

I got mine with a tracking number. Of course the MR e-mail failed to mention the company it shipped with...

DHL right?

Crap, it's worse. I went ahead and entered the number into the DHL web page. It's not for my shipment. :cry

I keep trying to give MR a break and they pull this :angry

BTW if you are KEITH KARUNTZOS you should get YOUR ship on the 9th.

Here is the dirt on replacements as far as warranty goes...

"You will have another 30 days once your replacement ships. We will however only replace an item 3 times. If on the third time you are not satisfied with the product we will issue a refund."

I would say that after 3 unsuccessful tries it is time for a refund.

I got mine today as well.
Same issue with the shipper.
Plus I had moved since, and I updated my info with MR.
They still shipped to the old address.

Everybody please wish us luck. We are going to need it.

They only give 3 shots? I wonder if they will refund the shipping? :lol

I would assume the warranty does not apply to factory defects.
Which it shouldn't.
A warranty should only apply if the item breaks within the warranty period.
A factory defect is a problem that occurred before you took possession.
I'm sure they will call it a warranty issue.

Hey, thanks, dude. I was wondering where my tracking number was. :D

Still, this type of customer service from Master Replicas is just plain piss-poor. I don't get a tracking number in my shipment notification, but some other guy gets my tracking number? Come on, MR, this is the year 2007 - this shouldn't be rocket science....
