Well its about time that I got around to this. I have always hated the paint on the SS snowspeeder & was always disappointed that it wasn't the red/orange version. Not for long. After the earthquake the other day my speeder came off its stand & fractured the left wing. I was actually pleased as this gave me the go ahead to re do the weathering & all. Its only just been sanded & undercoated but already I've hit a few problems. I ended up sanding back to the resin in some places & could I get the undercoat to stick, could I fu**.
After cleaning thrice with detergant then white spirit, it just kept bubbling in a particular place!!!!!!! It was resolved by an undercoat for the undercoat of Dull coat. This seems to have done the trick, so far?
I'm hoping to get a base coat on today but have still not decided my paint scheme. I have enough ref of the standard SS red version, but after looking at Sculpting a galaxy I love the look of the version it was originally (Luke's speeder). I'm thinking of doing what I've done before & go for a Guy's version, a hybrid of all the things I like but staying as close to as original weathering as possible. I'll update some pics tonight & I will do a step by step on this one, just to show how flukes are a big part of my work :lol
