do you have the box, stand, and the plaque?

condition it is in?

A MR rocketeer helmet with box, stand, plaque in mint condition will run $400-$500 on ebay..I doubt any-one on the rpf would pay that much for one, but a person on ebay would..The last two helmets sold around this range, and the previous helmets before them sold higher 400's and low 500s..

There is a helmet on ebay at 500 with zero bids..However, a fixed/ set price really doesnt do so well for some reason...

A helmet without box and stand will run high 200 hundred to mid 300...so 250-375...

Also, keep in mind your location may affect the final outcome of the sale...Us helmets usually sell higher than international helmets...

i've sometimes think about selling mine, i have the MR and Medicom? version. Their both nice looking, just sucks that the MR is so heavy especially if you wanna wear it.

Always wanted a Roceteer helmet, but never been sure as to what to pay for one....

Jamie, noooo!! Are you giving up the Rocketeer costume?

No mate I'd never give up my rocketeer costume, like evil said I have the acme and really don't need 2 lids, The helmet is in good condition and has the stand and all the other stuff, I may stick it on ebay. I just want to improve my costume and selling this would help me with that.

The Acme kit helmet is the best for accuracy... mind you, accuracy requires some modification and not just painting it gold. It takes some considerable and delicate dremeling on the openings and a considerable effort at sanding down the fin some (I use an orbital sander that is still kinda slow but easier than doing it manually.) The Acme helmet you can usually nab around the $200 mark... more if finished. Cheaper helmets and kits exist but they suck accuracy wise. A finished Acme will usually set you back at least $300 and can go up from there depending on who worked on it and how nice it is.

The rocketpack kits unfinished are about $1k and that's not unreasonable considering the amount of work and materials just put into the kit by itself. Finished rocketpacks just go up from there. I've seen them anywhere from $1500 to $4k. Paying a friend to finish one would probably set you back around $1500-$2k easy... they're a heck of a lot of work to finish. Dunno if he's been on the forum for a while or if he has done any in recent years but Bob (Rocketbobs) is "THE" man at finishing rocketpacks. I've never seen one to top one of Bob's finished packs... things of beauty. If only I could afford one myself!

hi pics attached. oddly enough, i never thought about photographing the two of these together. Is the Medicom a rare helmet? I got it years ago off the bay in a lot but never knew what it is really worth.

Great Pictures...

The Medicom helmet isnt really rare. I forgot how many were made. I have to look it up to see..

They usually sell from $175-$280

I've read lots of ebay descriptions that mentioned the Medicom helmet as limited to like 500 or something like that. I don't know if that's the right number or if the actual production differed. Regardless, I think it never caught on popularity wide because it has that bar across the interior so that it positively CANNOT be worn without modifying it.

I find it humorous to see the constant stream of accuracy problems myself. The MR is squished along with having MANY other more accuracy issues while the Medicom is better but it's got those bug-eyed lenses and what I refer to as that boat-rudder of a fin.

I've never seen a Medicom helmet break $300 myself but that's not to say it hasn't happened... it's not like I monitor the ending prices of every ebay auction after all. Most of the prices for that, like ER already said, tend to be between around $200-300.

awesome. The medicom helmet i have doesn't have the bar inside at all? Now im wondering if this is a medicom at all? The person i bought it from listed it as such years ago. weird, if it isn't a medicom i have no clue what it is lol.

I do unfortunately. :unsure

I watch the items on ebay and see the ending price, so in the future I know not to over-pay for an item that I dont necessarily want really bad..I seen one break 300 once, but it was due to two people throwing up high bids..I think the buyer ended up backing out of it and not paying...

Here is a pic of the bar, maybe your seller removed it and modified the helmet

i check underneath the padding around the inside of the helmet but dont see any marks on it that could suggest there was a bar there. dunno, could be he sanded it down pretty well but hard to tell. the helmet is nice to wear, that i can testify to. it fits snug and not loose and bulky like the MR. Im really happy with this one.
