MR Fett blaster question

I just got my MR Boba Fett blaster today and I wanted to see if anyone knew if the scope came apart? The lenses are painted, not clear, which I assume is because the ROTJ rifle was completely resin. I'd rather have it look like a "real" rifle, not a replica of the prop so I'd like to put in some glass lenses if possible.

Also for anyone who has one, what do you think about the front cradle and the plastic t-track? Do you think it will warp under the weight and mess up the t-track?

At least a couple of the real props were made from some real parts.
I believe they modified resin/fiberglass castings of plain Webleys.
The model kit parts, scope, rings, t-track, front barrel (pvc) are all add ons.

I guess you could cut out a section of cheapo reading glasses (the lense), then dremel it ever so carefully to fit -- test fitting with each swipe or two. But those lenses are made of an extruded acrylic, so they'll melt and get gooey pretty fast if you apply constant dremel sanding, so going slow is key. Painting the inside of the lense black might help to create the illusion of depth if you prefer.

Or if you didn't care about whether the detail looked like an actual refracting lense, just go with a thin clear cast acrylic sheet. Or the cheapest option -- cutting out a mylar or clear styrene (~.010" or greater) like you might find in anything from office supplies to photo albums, paint the reverse side black and glue inside the tube for that mirrored black look.

I have some ideas on how to do the lenses, I just wanted to know if anyone knew if the scope came apart or not. I figured if I didn't already have some glass lenses from some old VHS camcorders, I could just use acrylic.
