MR Falcon up for order

Just wanted to let everyone know that the MR Falcon is up for order. My order went smooth.

My shipping to IL was around $95. Guys over at rebelsucm reported $600+ for shipping to Australia.

$515 to the UK :angry

:eek That is too much.

Then you've got to add customs & import duty to that :angry :angry :angry

Why couldn't MR have a European distribution centre like Sideshow :(

Oh dear. This is terribly disappointing news. I've just worked out what it would cost to get this over to the UK (based on the shipping cost that Emperor Turpentine was quoted)

Falcon = $2199
Shipping = $515
Approx 20% customs and import taxes = $3256.

Using today's exchange rate, that works out to be £1770 Pounds Sterling...

As much as I want, or should I say NEED this thing, I just don't think I can justify that cost.

Very upsetting. :( :( :(

Chris

Considering how many AT-AT's are still knocking around on ebay selling for atleast 300 less than retail and that was less than half what the Falcon's going for now I would be very surpised if all 2000 Falcons get sold out.

Shipping for mine was $95 also to TN. However, I did see a notation that a more accurate shipping rate would be calculated when these were read to ship. Not sure if that means it will go up or what.

That really sucks Chris. :( If you new someone in the US who could purchase one for you then ship it to you declaring it much.....well you know what I mean.

I know what you mean Carl.
I just guessed at a shipping box size and got a price of $445 using DHL. Whatever happens, if we have to get it from the US, the shipping cost is going to be extremely high. It would have been nice to have the comfort that MR were distributing to the UK from a European warehouse (like Sideshow).

Oh well, I'm not going to admit defeat yet. I MUST have this thing...

It's actually cheaper to take the plane your self and bring it home on the plane...That is so insane...I ship from Sweden and think it's much cheaper...

Ya Chris if there is a WILL there is a WAY. :) Definitely keep trying. I hope you are able to get one.

I think it's bad that MR has after all this time done nothing
for European, or outside US buyers ..

I'm very unhappy not being able to buy the MF,
just because of a possible $900,- shipping cost ...
damn

Well, is more than $850 to South America... :cry

Boy, sounds like a difficult situation for everyone around. First off, MR would hear criticism if they didn't offer it internationally. But they do, now there is comments that shipping is so high. Heck, I'm not all that tickled to be paying nearly $100 for shipping here in the US. But what is one to do?

For the collector, it is a insanely priced collectible. But it may also be a "one in a lifetime" type of collectible purchase (or maybe not... time will tell). So, what's one to do? For me, I wanted it. It is well outside my "comfortable purchase" range. But I want it pretty darn bad. So, I just had to decide just HOW MUCH I wanted it.

Not trying to be overly critical, but I just see it being a "darned if you do, darned if you don't" response from some folks.

When you order direct from MR ,do they take the whole payment at once or is there a % you put down to hold your order till its ready to ship?if so what is the amount to order it?signature version that is.

Master Replicas does not charge your CC until the item (Falcon) is ready to ship, sometime around November-December at last report. :D

Dealers/anyone/everyone:

Please do not solicit sales in the main Prop Forum. That is what the Junkyard is for. Not even as replies in an existing thread.

Thanks.
