Hello guys,I have a problem and I hope some of you can help me.The Falcon is in Los Angeles at a friend of mine home. He has to send it here to France as luggage (to keep the shipping costs low). But it's only possible if the guy can remove the plexi rod (with the plug inside). The guy really doesnt kno how to do that, and I have only those pics, I cant help it more :

Is there a way to remove the rod and the plug without break it ? Thanks for thelp guys !

I have it here and i don't think there is any possibility to remove it without destroying the whole base.
But if he take all as luggage i guess it will be destroyed anyways.
Would not take that risk to be honest.

I agree. I think it would detroy the base too. The best way to pack it is the way MR have done it. I think it may be too fragile to pack normally.

The plexi rod does not come apart... Not without taking apart the entire stand and risk screwing up the mirror anyway. If you do not care about the mirror or are willing to replace it after it arrive then it would be possible. The electronics in the stand are pretty straightforward, and if you are willign to break the mirror to get everythign apart its a doable thing. If you're gonna do this I'd strongly recommend using the original packaging styrofoam. I think I'd also call Dean Dymerski (he's had one in peices and might know ;) and ask him how to remove the upper gun turret so that it can be packaged seperately since its gonna break putting the falcon in a suitcase...

This seems a bit extreme but I have no idea how much shipping is to France so...

I know shipping costs of such a large package really hurt the wallet, but with such a fragile and expensive product, it's probably money well spent - including an insurance.

How about sawing it off leaving an inch or so above the base. Then obtaining a slightly larger plexie tube later and epoxy the sawed off tube into the larger plexie tube and then that assembly back over the stub that was left on the base..
