Motorized Iron Man Mark 6 Helmet WIP

Re: Motorized Iron Man Mark 6 Helmet (not the faceplate)

Well its not much to show picture wise but i did make the covering for the gears on the otherside, and I am using magnets to keep them closed. All I have left to do is add a guide toward the front of the top of the helmet so it lifts properly and a hinge for the faceplate so I can have the option of motorizing it later.
And a little good news I wanted to share, I won first place in my category at my schools science fair :)

Congrats ! Means you have the knowledge to do this ;)
How is the build going by the way ?

Re: Motorized Iron Man Mark 6 Helmet (not the faceplate)

Hey - this looks like a very ambitious attempt - it'll be awesome if you can pull it off! :)
Not sure if you've figured out the Arduino issue yet, but I've encountered the "not in sync" issue before, and have found that if you have anything connected to certain pins when trying to upload, you'll intermittently get that message.

If you're able, disconnect whichever pins you can, and then try the upload. It's time-consuming, but it usually works for me.

Keep up the good work!

Re: Motorized Iron Man Mark 6 Helmet (not the faceplate)

The side if my faces presses against the gear covers so that the gears won't move :(
But all I need to do is make a bigger helmet, everything else is transferable.
Quick question about fiberglass cloth, how would you use it without the resin? I' m not sure maybe I haven't searched the right thing.

Re: Motorized Iron Man Mark 6 Helmet (not the faceplate) need a little help

Just read through this right now, and subbed. I would really like to see this.

Hope you pin this down..very interested in seeing it come together

Re: Motorized Iron Man Mark 6 Helmet (not the faceplate) need a little help

I made the tester helmet, I think it is a good size; it fits big now but when I make the real one and everything is in there it should be better. Not sure what I' m going to do with the other helmet though...

Re: Motorized Iron Man Mark 6 Helmet (not the faceplate) need a little help

J Scorn, interesting approach, I would like to see how you are going to do this.

it will be epic..... either a epic sucess or an epic fail... either way it will be epic!

i always post my progress on facebook before i post here, due to no notifications of replies on here, basiclly best way to see my stuff is to like me lol.

all the best in your build.

Yay updates! I am working on the new helmet, it's going a lot faster than the other. I hope to be done with the helmet and transfers by Tuesday. It's gonna be cool!

Cool buddy, looking forward to it, mines taking a back burner while I'm constructing 100 different things. Keep us posted and all the best.

Oh forgot to update, I finished the helmet but I haven't taken any pictures yet. The cardboard is to thin to hold the correct shape when I take the pieces apart so I'll do that when I strengthen it, at least I know it works from the other one.
