motorbike helmet power ranger recycling

I've just bought a new motorbike helmet so my old one is sat lonely on a shelf, after a bit of pondering i think i want to chop it up to make a red or white ranger helmet but after searching here and Rangerboard I can't seem to find anyone thats done the same, would anyone know if it's been done or have any tips for doing it?
