It comes down to two...The Smith & Wesson Model 29 in .44Mag and The Colt Python in its various incarnations The Model 29 is famous for appearing in the Dirty Harry used by Clint Eastwood movies. the Colt Python also appeared in the Dirt Harry Film and has been the trade mark revolver used both in the film and TV series Starsky and Hutch as the trade mark revolver of David Soul and as the revolver of choice by Andrew Lincoln playing Rick Grimes in the series The Walking Dead. So...What is your fav of these two..?

The 44 mag...hands down!

I'd argue though...the most popular depends on what era or movies and TV we are talking about. The Colt SAA Peacemaker was arguably the iconic revolver of the 40's, 50's, and into the 60's. don't underestimate the screen time of the classic snub nosed .38 detectives special either...

To me ?????....The Colt Python...so well designed, so equilibrated in its shape !!
Here in France, a Director made a movie "dedicated" to that gun , with great actor Yves Montand, called "Police Python 357".

Popular or appeared the most in TV/film? The Single Action Army would beat the pants off of any revolver as far as appearance.
