Just posting pic's of my latest acquisition & how Pat's HP Hydrostone Crest looks like in a shadowbox
1st up the Serpent Guard Helm from Morpheus13
The flashing cleanup is minimal and to my surprise since its a chopped fiberglass layup the inside is 98% smooth with only a few rough areas (prickles) more in the side head flares. Its got a good gel coat to it & decently thick so it should hold up well. Covering the inside with a thin leather will be no problem at all. My only worry is softening of the etching details when I go to paint it up. With the pics Micdavis snagged at Legend's open house & posted here a few days ago that included a Seprent Guard Helm, hopefully I'll be able to get a good screen accurate finish on it.
Last up is Patsmear's HP Crest that he offered in the junkyard not too long ago. I got 3 of them. 2 were done in shadowbox like this one pictured.
The 3rd my sister wanted a bigger shadowbox so she could put here snitch, time turner & Harry's Wand in, She hasn't got it done yet & knowing her I'll have to take a weekend trip to Chicago to get it done & get pics.
