Mordin Solus Mass Effect 2

Here are some progress shots of a sculpture I am making for a Mordin Solus mask. I had to alter the salarian proportion to fit within a normal human. This is quite tricky as the shape of Mordin's head is very incompatible with normal human proportions.

Lots of work left to do but I thought I would share some fun progress shots along the way.

Oh yeah, thats great! Mordin is one of the coolest characters in the game imo. Love to see this.

good luck!
morden was my first choice for a mass effect character, but i did not want to alter the head shape of him, to make it work.

Very cool. Now you just have to learn to sing like he does (had to be the oddest moment in that game) lol.

I was hesitant to attempt this but it's looking decent. I can also play with the paint job to further attempt to hide the human features.

I'd have to agree with Wes, being able to do his G&S-inspired song would be the icing on the cake!

Looking awesome so far!

Lookin good Dano. Any plans to do something with the eyes?

The plan is to use PET. Hopefully I can find some clear orbs and cut them the the proper shape and then glue them to the final mask. I will use spray on lens tint since the Salarian eyes are almost solid black. and I'll paint on the inner eyelid probably with some tamiya transparent red.

Interested in the pics hanging in the background, your own model? Or you imported a Mordin model in a 3D software and just removed textures?

edit: one workaround for maintaining anatomy of the skull would be to leave your head in the neck, ie look through the nose

Haha really? No that would look ridiculous. He's not a mascot at a sports event.

The model is a render in zbrush that the Bioware artist created for Mordin. The Bioware artist also released a fully textured render of Mordin so it is perfect for this purpose.

is there a reason why your angles are often blocking the horn things on his head? or just by chance?
looking great so far!
