this is only one way to make a good two part mold
sculpt, arm, leg, head, armor. the arm is oil base clay the walls are water base clay but the arms can be wed clay
think of good mold lines, a mock up of wood will help keep the clay flat
rough out the clay wall
go back and make clean sharp flat edges
its time for keys, think about it stone wont bend if the keys lockup when you try to open the mold it will brake.
its time to spray a clear sealer over all the clay
ps look at the wrist its the pour spout
mix the stone and smooth it on be careful not to get air bubbles the first layer, it will be 3/8"thick let it jell
mix more stone and add moist hemp to build up mass
let jell and more stone to make a nice finish the mold will be
1 1/4"to 1 1/2" thick.
once dry flip it over clean out the clay and trim the sides
the next job is to make a thin layer of clay about 1/8" thick keep at least 3/8" away from the arm and stay out of the keys
this part will make a very tight seam.
spray with clear sealer, and petroleum jelly on the stone and make the outher side
now the fun will start the fiber glass arm you started with will be the core
core???
yes after the latex skin is poured put the core back in the mold and fill with foam.
the best arms you will ever have
