Moebius reps were at WONDERFEST this weekend -- had video that showed pics of the upcoming 18-inch Jupiter II -- it looks AMAZING!!!!!!

They also said they got license to BSG Sci-Fi Channel series and will be doing a VIPER model within the next year.

18 inch Jupiter II?

I had no idea Mobius was doing this ship! I've built their Flying Sub, Seaview, Chariot and Space Pod kits and they are top notch. This is gonna be great.

Upper deck only. I hope that means that the landing gear will be retractable or at least have detailed gear bays.

Yes, it appears that it will have detailed landing gear bays -- but don't think gear will be retractable.

According to a thread on Hobby Talk, there will be landing gear with detailed gear bays, but the gear will not be retractable. The kit will include parts to give the modeler two choices--gear up or gear down.

I assume that will be the MkII since it had the most screen time. Any word on the scale? I was going to pick up a few of the garage kits before interest drops off and the supply disappears, but I'd rather support the license holder if they are turning out a good product.

1/72 isn't my favorite scale by a long shot, but since Hasegawa and Fine Molds are predominately using 1/72 for Macross and Star Wars, then I'll probably stick with that for BSG. It will be cool to one day have fighters from my favorite sci-fi all in the same scale :cool

Looks like it is to be a MkII Viper in 1/32 scale if this info is accurate:

Depending on the price I may need to get that, but I'm still going to need a 1/72 version for my collection.

According to another thread on Hobby Talk, at this time Moebius is planning four kits from the new Galactica series: Viper MkII, Galactica, Raider, Viper MkVII. If there's interest, a Raptor would be next; after that it depends on how well the kits sell.

I am definitely interested in a Galactica. I hope it's in a price range I can afford. I've never paid much attention to Moebius in the past, and I've been checking out their kits on some online stores. The prices vary wildly from one kit to the next. There are kits under $25 and others at $130. I'll just have to wait and see where the Galactica falls in that range. I found a post that claimed a December 2009 release date for the Viper MkII. Perhaps the price of that kit will be an indicator of the range for other kits in the line. I'll be watching, and saving my nickles and dimes in the interim.

That JII kits sounds excellent! Don;'t get me wrong, the Galactica will be awesome if it has some size it, but I have been after a nice JII for a long time!
I just couldn't afford a 4 foot, nor have I had space to display one!
I don't remember what, if anything, I have from Moebius, how are their kits?
