I recently bought a Big Chief Studios 1:6 221B Baker Street Door Diorama.
However, having OCD, it bugged me that the door didn’t open, so I decided to modify it so that it did. Of course, the room inside also needed to be built, so after a couple of days work I was able to cut the door and fill areas that needed to be filled.
I also am planning on extending the Diorama on each side.

Since I finally had a day off today, I was able to model and complete the interior room and door. The door has acrylic inserts so I could add back lighting.

Interesting subject! I had no idea anyone made a kit like this. Will you be doing a character in the doorway to?

The 221B Baker Street door came as a static piece and I modeled the interior room matching it as close to the reference pictures I had of the real room and faux door as seen in the Sherlock series.
I’ll also be building the areas to the left and right of the doorway to extend the Diorama.

Incredible.
Thanks!
I did everything old school with this build, so no computer work or 3D prints, just sheets of wood, styrene, acrylic, etc. I measured and cut by hand or using a jigsaw. Even those bars up top that won’t even be seen once the awning is up are individually cut pieces of skewers and glued one by one from the back.

Small update. I made a rack and microwave and added the signs and some product on the window sill.

I may be able to start final assembly and some painting on Monday.

You do realize what you have started? We’re expecting all of Baker Street now.
Lol, I barely have room for this as is, so I’m glad I made it to be able to break down in pieces.
I may build upwards though, if I ever feel the need for Sherlock to look out of the balcony window ;).
