Models we'd like to have seen made

Mind there is a pretty nifty paper model out but I'd love a nice plastic kit of the Star Car from The Last Starfighter. I've spoken with Allen Ury at Fantastic Plastic as to the fanbase regarding the vehicle so at least it's on his 'aware' list for the moment.

That is on my "wouldn't it be nice if" list as well for something I would get.

If anyone were to do that car in styrene, I would say Aoshima or Fujimi would be the best candidates. Fujimi could easily stick it in with their unlicensed Blade Runner cars and Aoshima at one time did kits from "Back to the Future" and the Star Car would potentially fall within that license since it was one of the background cars seen in the 21st Century Hill Valley footage (it was even seen in a BTTF II poster).

I never knew that! Hey JM... Long time no see! Now I'm gonna have to go back and watch BTTF2 just so I can see that car! LOL

How about the Statue of Liberty from planet of the apes? Not just a generic one but one that's fairly accurate.

That would be cool... or perhaps the statue as it looked in Spaceballs complete with President Scroobe and company coming out of its nose like boogers! Hehhehehehehe! :)

I'd love to see an accurate 1:350 scale cope of the Queen Mary (AKA the S.S. Poseidon).

Fairly surpirsed it doesn't exist, due to the popularity of the ship, and the scale fro ship models.

How 'bout this guy...

I would like to see:
1. U.S.S. Cygnus (it appears PrimitveDave and Nwerke will have that covered).
2. Narn Heavy Cruiser ( the red and black dazzle pattern was very nice). B5
3. A combo kit: Omega class destroyer and Hyperion (same scale). B5
4. Gamillon/Galman Twin Tri-deck Carrier. Space Battleship Yamato: The Bolar Wars
5. Dark Nebula warships (all of them...neat designs). Space Battleship Yamato
Except for Cygnus, I don't have any scales but would like to see these about 18 to 24 inches long (lack of shelf space, you know).

I thought of a couple more... how about the shuttle pod from Pitch Black or maybe even the land vehicles from Earth 2? Or even the ship from Red Planet that they went to Mars in?

Thought they already made the Airwolf... Even had a little Vincent figure if I remember when I used to watch it all the time back in the day... and when the kit came out I had to get it and put it together!

MPC brought out the kit of the USS Cygnus. Google and you'll find various builds of it.

Aaron? Is that you?

mrchester has a very nice MPC Cygnus rebuild in the works, check his thread! :)

mrchester - one of our members offers a nice Narn heavy cruiser in resin. I have one, well worth it.

A friend of mine mentioned this this afternoon and it got stuck in my head. The more I think about it, the more I get uppity.

1:144 or 1:72 Star Wars Custom Freighter kits

Basically, it would be all you'd need for each body group...

A YT-1XXX kit that would allow you to make a custom YT-1210 or 1300 or 1750, left side cockpit, centered cockpit, right side cockpit, different thrusters...

A YT-2XXX kit...

A CR kit...

They'd probably all share the same "greeble" sprues and most of the real expense would be in the big body bits. But I imagine that our ilk alone, from just greeble-lust, would make it a good seller.

Always thought that a General Grevious in 1/6th would be cool, but i can't find any really clear reference pictures of him. (front, side, close up views of mechanical joints)

Does anyone know if there are any blue prints avaliable anywhere, i might like to scratch build him?

Gag

Yup it's me - I remember seeing the MPC Cygnus at Toyworld in Morley when it first opened and also that toyshop that used to be in the Hay St Mall. Never saw it after 1982, mind you, my attention went onto girls at that stage and then it wasn't a field of interest anymore....
