Okay ... so for the sake of myself and others who need to overcome the initial "intimidation" factor about how to utilize styrene for cool prop/modeling projects like so many we see here on The RPF - as well as to provide for a resource for future searchable reference - I found the following (of many) online resources that can/may help us get started and, hopefully, feel a little less intimidated . . .

I worked up a fairly simple model house (from Beetlejuice) in styrene:

It's the best material to work with in my opinion, there's literally nothing that I can think of you couldn't make with it.
It comes in various thickess from 0.25mm to 3.2mm.
It can be laser cut, hand cut, sanded and easily painted.

I always make paper templates stick them to the styrene sheet, draw around them for safety incase the paper slips during cutting and put the prop/model together with styrene cement.

A good metal ruler, a stanley/box knife and some imagination and you will be well on your way to making some great props.

Good luck.

I have been using styrene for a bunch of projects lately and I have got to say, it sure helps being able to cut the thin stuff with scissors or metal shears instead of a band saw. Makes it easy to replicate the same shape over and over.
