Minigun Photos

Here are a couple of photos of my minigun. I had help from some people who worked on the movie and supplied a few parts to convert a standard minigun into the one carried by Blaine in Predator.

The minigun barrels spin but it does not fire. It is made entirely of metal except for the plastic pistol grip. The feed chute and ammo can/backpack are real military items. Enjoy.

I've modified the setup a little to improve the way the ammo can and feed chute were setup. Here is a closeup of the ammo can and backpack.

That is one prop I would love to have and or build. Anybody got a tutorial on one? It seems like I had seen one a long time ago but hell if I know where.

I actually had some pieces from the movie, and others were fabricated. All the add-on parts were aluminum. I can do a brief tutorial showing the components, etc. if anyone is interested. Having access to a local foundry, metal fabricator, metal finisher and welder was helpful.

I had seen a tut somewhere once to make one from PVC but I have no idea where that one was.

Hi m8

A tutorial would be great as I would love to make one of these.

Short of the foundry I have everything else, so it should be feasible.

Start with one of these, a Japanese "Toytec" metal minigun replica:

Fabricate one of these upper cradles:

Fabricate one of the lower cradles using an M60 machinegun forend:

Modify the replica Minigun to fit a real US 7.62 caliber aluminum feed chute

Add the ammo can:

And your gun will look just like this one from the movie:
