Thanks guys...so got the 'box' elements sorted on the port underside...
Bottom Jaw (half)
Docking Arm (lower port)
Landing Gear platform (half)
Also the back fins and one half of the engine lighting rig
Still to do...front leg box and leg/gun platform/landing gear doors/sub-assembly pits

yeah I totally missed the Slave1 build as it was happening but got caught up on it a couple days ago. So cool, as other have said- mind blowing
I am going to be following this now in real time.
I have never even looked into the modeling forums on here before, man have I been missing out.

I’m so jealous! It’s beyond beautiful already.
I’ve always thought about how cool it would be to have a Falcon this scale. You would need a spare garage just to use as it’s hangar.
One serious question though. How are you going to flip it over? Is it still light enough for two guys to lift and flip?

Well it's getting heavier all the time, so probably not, but I have a plan to use a long scaffold pole and some trestle stands to roll it 180 degrees. It does mean that everything will need to be done to the underside before the flip including all the greeblies, pipes and painting/weathering
I have actually had a little break, so apologies for the slacking, but I'm back on it now
Got the jaw and leg box finished. All the underside is primed. Sub-assembly pit and gun platform to do

So more progress and this time it feels like a new phase...I'm pretty much done with the woodwork side of things, for now.
I've started the plating. For the flat areas like the gun platform, jaws, docking arms etc, I have modelled SVG files and laser cut 3mm Styrene pieces like this:
And for the curved hull plates I firstly made paper templates and then transferred the patterns onto 3mm MDF for cutting out
Also finished up the lower port access pit sub-assembly. I'm taking some non-cannon liberties with the lower pits as they will not really be visible
Added the milk-plex to the engine lights too, and started adding the greeblies on the tail

One of the hardest things for me is figuring out dimensions. It never works out right. Another factor is, unlike the curvy Slave I the Falcon would be easier to build the shell of. Like the USS Excelsior vs. The Enterprise E. Also I could never 3D model anything without smashing numerous computers.
If I had a file with all the wood pieces measurements, 3D print files for all the pats, etc. I could build this,.................maybe,.......possibly.
We will pay you much moola.
