Just out curiosity... and maybe you've mentioned this... But what kind of printer do you have access to to get prints at this scale? Really looking forward to this build!

Thanks Korben44...I have a coupla CR-10S5's, an S4, an Ultimaker 2+, 2 Elegoo Mars and a Formlabs 2. You'd think that was enough but I'm still hankering after a Ultimaker 3 and waiting for the Elegoo Saturn. Most of this big stuff is done on the S5's with a 1mm nozzle

Wow... That is impressive! Definitely a small production company's worth of printers! Looks like I'm going to be needing that Elegoo Saturn! It should make super small scale stuff with details never seen before! It sounds like a lot of print time, too. Looking forward to your progress!

OK so I'm starting on the main hull section. All done in 12mm ply with 18mm joists inside the 'biscuit'. It's gonna be heavy but we already knew that.
I will do the port side first as it doesn't have the cockpit tube, but essentially they are identical to build. I am using 11 ribs to skin over with 1 extended piece to join for the middle rib

Next up is sorting out the Docking ring cut-away and fitting the joists to support the mandible

just a quickie...added another row of ribs to counter any sagging for the skin...

and finished the legs prior to installing/painting etc

Seriously this is truly amazing work. I get you are doing this full time for a living but the speed still astonishes me.

I really hope we can travel next summer to go see all this.

Here's where I am now...finished building the port mandible and sorted out the joist extensions to carry the weight. Also added the pit greeblie plates, top and bottom

Next up is skinning the topside and attaching the overhanging ring

How about just the bridge tower then? then you can attach the falcon to the back and put the slave 1 in the garbage port!

OK, more progress...got the port side half mostly done...all skinned in 4mm ply with legs and mandible attached

Also finished up the 2 Docking rings

Next up, building the Docking Arms x 4, both Jaw boxes and the gun platforms

Exactly. Nice to see it's not just me. He's like, "Oh did I mention I knocked out this Falcon landing gear while finishing the Slave I while juggling and walking across the water all at the same time. Just wanted to share."
