Millennium Chess Table(s) Finished

:eekPhenomenal! This will be my first impulse buy when I hit that Powerball number. :love...:cry

Just noticed though, the keys are on the wrong sides for the ANH configuration. Black keys should be below the blue lights, and white keys below the red lights. ...Not to diminish the awesomeness of the piece, just an observation. :$

This is a good catch. I should have known they would be wrong on the one down at disney. That's the one I used for the symbol reference when creating the key graphics and never thought to verify the lights on that one were similar to the ANH configuration. Looks like I'll get to find out how easy these stickers come off now.

awesome work!! got a chance to see these in person and I can tell you that pictures just dont do them justice. This is truly on of the best props I have ever seen in my life!!

That is bloody brilliant!

Now, to make a game that fits on it and is a decent enough strategy game that a droid and a Wookiee could compete, plus engaging enough for a pilot and co-pilot to play on those long flights.

I would imagine that a computerized holo-Chess table could provide a great number of games, some played on the 25-space board (the same way Chess and Checkers are played on the same board), and some just using the table's hologram capability.

While those are incredible craftsmanship , I would have to have one that was weathered and beat up like it had been on deck of the falcon. Those are perfect for lopez and sansweet..:)

Hello you guys. I have a question about this table. I know that this table done in this thread is a very, very good replica of the original. I have seen many pictures of both and compare them carefully and I think that this is a terrific job.

I also took the 3D model in the PDF posted here and exported it to make an orthogonal comparison with another orthogonal drawing from the side that I have of the table that I got from the page of the Dejarik Builders Club on Yahoo and I found one discrepancy. The top of the table seems to be equal in proportions and so does the main support column but notice in the drawing I am providing the difference in the size of their bases. This triple image that I did was scaled to match.

The first picture to the left is the drawing I got from the Dejarik Builders Club on Yahoo, the second photo (the one in the center) is the orthogonal side view of the 3D model that was in the PDF provided here. The third picture to the right is the two pictures superimposed and notice how the base of the 3D model from the PDF is smaller than the base of the drawing from The Dejarik Builders Club.

Does anybody knows which of the two bases is closer in size or proportions to the original table? Or are both bases educated guesses and a little speculative and the best guess there is as good as it gets? I know that it may be hard to get the exact measures of the real table, does anybody know which one of the two bases is the closest?
