cool. the only thing that's missing is a solid belt. I really really suggest you try to get a wide brown belt made to use for the costume. It looks a lot better then two belts tied together. I did that for my previous turtle costume and the belt just didn't look as good. I wish I had used a Brown belt then the black one i did use. :-(

Just saw something on news about a sighting of a large anthropomorphic turtle standing around in a residential neighborhood. Luckily, some pics were taken to get a better look of the creature lol. Seriously, that's one hell of a costume. Now how about some videos of you showing off your nunchuck kata routine? lol j/k.

Hey man! That is awesome! I had a few questions though.
1. What latex paint did you use for the costume? Did you use a latex for the first few coats then start applying green latex?
2. For the upper portion of the costume (shirt part) did you use just a pretty tight t-shirt then glued the foam to it.
3. Are the shell and front portion just button on?

Thanks for any info. Looks awesome!

KB, thanks for the breakdown! I'm about to employ some similar techniques and materials myself, and it really helps to see what others have done.

Did you slush cast the mask, and then add some of the foam to fill? How does the foam work? Did you just fill the nose? Does it expand much?

After creating the mask and skinning the suit, how much latex of the 5 gallons would you estimate you've used?

What did you solder?

Is that feather spray designed for foam, or is it some sort of all-purpose spray adhesive?

I apologize for all of the questions - you've gotten some really nice results though, and I can't resist the opportunity to pick your brain! Thanks again,

- Douglas

no problem man i had all these questions when i started they didnt get answered lol .. so for the mask i brushed a layer in then pored and filled the cast let it sit for a day and a half to get a good thikness then pore it out and let dry..

the foam i brushed in have to brush fast though it sets quick. it doesnt expand that much about a half inch.. and makes it really strong a life like.. but whatever you do dont take out the latex mask first and then put it back in to foam it . i made that misktake lol .. just wait till the latex is completly dry then brush the foam in to get the right shape.

i used the hole ******** 5 gallons lol i could have uses some more but 5 worked out great...
i used the soldering gun for making rinkles and finger and toe nails on the foam works very well....

the feather gue is like crack for me now i would use that **** on everything its the best.... if you find it for cheap some where buy the whole rack lol

keep up the good work ... love your scuplted being watching your thread closely lol.. if you run in to any trouble i will help where i can.. and if you ever start a run on thoughs heads ill pick one up for sure...
