Thanks for the info (and the kind words)!

Did you put the foam around the entire head? Or did you just use it to fill the protruding areas? How thick does it paint on, before gaining that half inch?

:lol I've been using a soldering iron to carve my foam rubber, too! I wondered if you had it out for an actual metalworking reason.

How does your shell attach? Do you have "suspenders" of a sort that run under the shoulders of the bodysuit?

Great work!

it was crazy i couldnt get out of the main hall... also walk down front street in torronto in the suit it was awsome... but soo very very vvvvvery hot lol...

Yup, welcome to the world of suiting. :) Some of us end up suffering
for the art more than others. Just remember, stay safe, stay hydrated and know your
time limits. Plus, if you keep working on the suit, over time you'll slowly
discover little fixes to improve the cooling situation.
One good thing: better Canada than say, Miami, eh?

Regardless, congrats on your build. :thumbsup

no just used the soldering for foam carving...
the shell is 2 parts the front and the back. the back and sides are one part and the front is its own.. the back part goes around me and the i have to straps with clips holding it on like a belt and the front velcrows on to the sides of the back.

the head i have painted in the foam all over it has the consistancy of glue...

This looks amazing! The sculpture of the head, and all the foam details on the shell are great. I hope it is a nice, cool day when you wear this out!

Your suit looks amazing. I am currently planning on making a ninja turtle costume of my own, and I am doing a lot of planning right now. I am wondering how you attached the shell to yourself. I have had a few different ideas on how to accomplish this, but I have not quite come up with any reasonable solutions. Any pictures would awesome. Thanks.

Hi kryptoboy

Just started my own build, just wondered what sort of paint you used? Did you mix it with the latex? If so what ratio did you do it at as I'm finding the latex dilutes the paint I'm using, I've got pine green acrylic.

Cheers

hey dont use too much acrylic just enough to get your latex the color you want.. too much and it will make it crack

you did a great job and thank you for sharing the details on cost and how you went about everything. You had said that you might make another at some point. Are you still planning to? I'm positive I'm not the only one that would love it if you did.

Hello I am creating a costume for Comic Con next year, may you please give me detailed steps how you made the shell? even the Mask it self it would be so helpful, this is my first time attempting something to this magnitude and I know it will not turn out as good as what I'm seeing. Guidance would be appreciated thanks .

Hello sir, so I make a duct tape dummy, get a full body nylon suit put the suit over the dummy, sculpt the muscles...attach them to the suit (what do I use to attach them?) then cover the suit with latex (do I brush the latex on, how do I apply it?) when it's all finished...how do I get the suit off the dummy, that's what I was wondering about this Ninja Turtle costume. I understand he put the foam muscles on the dummy, but how did he cut the dummy out if it's covered in latex? I then noticed that he cut the dummy off in sections....sorry for the confusing questions..this is just my first time so I would like to soak up as much knowledge as possible.

Hey there all you got to do it make it 2 sections paints and top .. Cut the back of the top all the way up the middle and pull it off .. The bottoms just pull off like pants

This is a amazing build can anyone point in the direction of detail instructions of how to make a shell as I've been thinking for the longest time of making a TMNT costume Thanks
