Mib neuralyzer toys

I'm thinking about vac-metalizing mine, if I can find a decent DIY kit. I have never had success with chrome paint. It looks great, until you touch it! :unsure

This is the problem I have been having! I tried out a test panel using Alclad 2, and like the look so far. But when I topcoated it with lacquer clear, it loses it magic. It seems to hold up alright on it's own, but you can still rub it off (if you put some elbow grease into it).

I'm still considering buying the neuralzer, after finishing this! But I want to keep back the money for the J2!

Either way the disquise prop is pretty cheap to not give it a try! I'm going to make some more!

My buddy has a custom paint, and fabrication shop. We have thought about putting are money together, to purchase a new chrome plating machine (of sorts!). It's a 2 step process, that gives you the real chrome look. But it's about $5000.00, plus materials! I think it would be killer for the RPF, let alone automotive aftermarket.
Here's a link of a similar system.

O.k. Here are some pics from my phone (8 mp and they still look like crap!)
It gives you an idea how bright the smd leds are. Not to mention, they take up much less room!
If you look closely at the bottom left side, you can see the spring activated switch, where the Male,Alien, Female, settings are.

Here is the bright blue smd led mounted in the top, projecting down. This stays on until you decide to "Flashy thingy" someone. Which is very blinding with this flash strobe!

As far as materials go, I spent less than $15.00 for this build.

I purchased the camera strobe circuit, out of a reusable 35mm camera, from the Dollar Store. The smd leds, I already had on hand, and the switches were a couple bucks. I replaced the 1.5 AA battery, with a N battery, to save space. I used model railroad wire throughout the project, which saves alot of space! Without that small gauge wire, I couldn't have wired it all up. I've used this wire for many projects, and have had no issues with it burning up. That doesn't mean it has it's limitations, but I try out the circuit first, to make sure there are no problems! Well I think that's it! I will post some pics of it completely assembled, maybe even a video if need be.
can you make me one in begging you. i'll pay $20

Yea I should be able to, I just need a little bit of time! I finally figured out how to get the Alclad 2 chrome to work for me, and cure!

However, the chrome paint can rub off, if you wipe hard enough. Right now I need to get some Future floor finish, and see it does not hurt the chrome look, when top coated.

I've been busy with other stuff, that I got a little side tracked! I will get back on it here soon, and see if I can make one that operates with a Led in the front, and the strobe.

Unfortunately, I can not have it move up and down. It would have to stay in the open position, because of the flash circuit, and battery.
thanks man, could you email me everything like price and stuff on shroshan.07@gmail.com

1. could you have it spring loaded or slide up instead of static
2. could the flash be horizontal
3. could you make a stand like the factory ent one

Hmm. That's weird! My post disappeared!

Anyways! No I could not make it spring activated. The flash circuit, battery, and other components take up to much room in the bottom. So it would have to stay open

I should be able to find a smaller strobe, that will fit in the top. Either way, it still gives the same effect.

As far as a stand, I never really thought about it. The whole idea of this little project, was to make one for costume parties, and Halloween stuff. That way you don't have to walk around with your $400.00 prop.

Give me a little more time to experiment with the Future wax, to see if it can protect, without dulling. Otherwise I will just put the Alclad 2 finish on it, and be done.

I'll be sure to update the post, when I figure it out!

Great, I said about the stand and all please think about a stand and can you make the dials move just like in the movie thx

Hi jason How do you first turn the blue led in the front on because in the factory ent one and the master replicas one it turns on when opened but this one is always open?

Jason
Don't wanna rush you or anything I know you have got stuff to do bud plz past a video and plz update on selling that neuralyzer could you make it also reeealy chromed like in that vid that you posted

There are 2 separate tiny switches. One for the flash circuit, and one for the led's. If I was to make another, it would just have a blue led in front, and the flash.

The dials would remain the same, and I'm working on a protective finish for the Alclad 2 paint.

Other than that, this is a very simple version. The FE Neuralyzer, is very nice, with intricate circuitry. Also I might ad, that Factory Entertainment makes a very nice neuralyzer. Not to mention a great staff of workers, and customer service!

I'll post a video of what I have so far, very soon!

When you are posting a video can you compare with the factory ent one or the mr one I'll buy depending on price and stuff
Pm me or email me
I hope I don't need to tell you my email again I've done it so many times already

Dude that's 3 posts on the same day. Think about it. Of course you are rushing him. There might be people with a job or more important things to do than to post videos on demand.
Keep calm and let the guy breathe please.

And I'm trying to post loads because I need to hit 20 posts
To put it as kindly as possible: Please don't do that. Please don't just make a bunch of consecutive posts that could have been edited and put in one post. If they're reported, you'll probably lose them all and be back at square one. It's really no different than spamming the board, especially since you admitted that you just want to hit the 20 post number. Please actually try to contribute to the community in positive ways, not to just reach your quota.

In addition, all new member buying should have been left in the new members WTB thread in the Junkyard or kept to private messaging. Others want to read this thread for info about the Neuralyzer toys and mods made to them, not just your posts about buying one.

Alright thanks I'll pm from now on

yeah, really...what the hey hey, man. that was a bit weird.

look forward to pics/videos of any mods you guys do to the toys...and i would gladly pay someone to mod the latest toy/costume version to simply make the front lens flash red or blue.

better yet, i won't ask about it every five minutes. ;)

Yea.... Well..... :confused Moving along!!!!

I was not able to track down any Future wax today, the time for that, just wasn't in the cards! I could leave it alone with just the Alclad 2 finish, but it really needs a protective coating. The whole paint process, is what has been taking so long! But I'll get it figured out real soon!

I was working on making the front lens, and I was not having much luck with making the clear plastic work. So I tried clear vinyl tubing!

Here are a few pics. I basically cut the tubing to size, then heated it up (using a soldering gun), taped it to the top portion of the flash unit, while it cooled down. I think it will work just fine! (notice the black finish! It's only the 5th attempt at the chrome paint, along with a piece of my sanity!)

It's getting there! I'll post a video, with all the details soon!

Jason, if you get a chance in the future, could I trouble you for a daylight photo of an Alclad II finished piece? I have been considering trying it on another project of mine, so I was curious of how it looks.
