Metropolis

I was unaware that this is a members only forum. Must have missed that memo. ;)

And if it is, how is that stopping some of the newer, unscrupulous members from getting the images and giving them to those who will sell them?

Anything I post here, I just asume will be sold sooner or later. Mabey I am just jaded, or perhaps I have just been burned too many times.

Also, there are several banned members who have sock puppet accounts here too, I know that JHyphen openly brags about having two or three accounts here, "just so he can keep tabs on this place" as he puts it, so security here is rather poor.

END OF RANT....... ;)

The paper prop forum is just like the OT forum, it's only visable to members and only members that have 20 posts and have been a member for at least 90 days. It was in the new paper prop forum announcement. :)

http://www.therpf.com/announcement.php?f=9

As with the Off-Topic forum, only "General Members" will be able to access this new forum.
(have at least 20 posts and have been a member for at least 90 days)
Unfortunately, it is impossible to keep someone out that wants to go through the trouble of circumventing the protections that we have in place, but short of requiring personal identification of every member, there is nothing that we can do. :(

My point is not that you should not protect what you feel you need to protect (that's totally your call), but rather that the purpose of this subforum is for open sharing--thus there's no point in posting stuff that you don't plan to share.

But not the end of the world...nice work on that currency. :)

I thank you for the clarity. I am still on the fence as to whether I will be sharing or selling these, hence the watermark.

Am I correct in guessing the first two signatures at the bottom to be Fritz Lang and Thea von Harbou?

That looks correct to me. :) :thumbsup

I've compared the production credits, and even the names of the UFA studio heads of the early and mid-1920s, to the remaining signatures, but haven't been able to figure out whose they might be. :confused

No idea where I heard this, but:

"To publicize the film, Ufa printed special bank notes with the signature of Fritz Lang, scriptwriter Thea von Harbou, cameramen Karl Freund and Gunther Rittau and architect Otto Hunte."

Great info, Sheriff. Thanks! :thumbsup

Freund, Rittau, and Hunte were three of the names from the film credits I compared to the signatures... but I couldn't make a positive match based on the small, somewhat blurry photo. Lang's and von Harbou's names seem much easier to pick out.

You're not sure where you heard that information, but you're able to quote it word for word? I don't mean to look an information gift horse in the mouth. It's just a little odd! :lol

I copied & pasted it to a text file for reference :lol

Same thing I did when I was trying to make out the German 'warning' text.

Time passes, I do nothing, then this thread pops up and I can now go and copy & paste it from my files into a post.

:)
