Re: Metropolis Money??

This needs to be in a movie/show specific thread. You can ask the question, we just need to know what movie/show you are referring to.

Re: Metropolis Money??

Yeah, I sold replicas of the money about ten years ago... maybe less.

That was done using this as reference material:

Google Cache

A year or two ago, a member here photographed some at the German Film Museum (or something), IIRC. That gave us better reference material:

Here's what it may look like under better light, etc:

Here's my best guess at what the text in the center probably says:

Wer banknoten nach
macht oder verfalschte
in den handel bringt wird
mit Zuchthaus nicht un-
ter 30 jahren bestraft.

Naw, sorry Richie, haven't made any in years.

If I ever were to do a run again, I'd like to essentially draw it up all over, too.

Y'know, I'd be makin' a lot more props & models if it wasn't for this damn job I have to work. Gets in the way of my hobbies.

:lol

If I recall correctly, I may have sold six sets ... so someone out there has some. Or perhaps someone else will step up, now that there's a thread & all.

I'm sure interest will pick up when the complete blu ray version comes out. After all, the scene these are featured in will be shown. :lol

Really? Really on both counts?

I have (had, actually) the newest Kino DVD, and even in standard def, in that super-restored edition, I could occasionally see grain. I cannot imagine that will translate well to 1080p. 'Course, I do recall reading that when they did that restoration, they scanned the original material at 2K resolution. Which means all they have to do is insert the new footage they found in South America, not re-scan the whole thing...

So, does that mean they found the scene where the worker finds money in What's-his-name's pockets & goes to Yoshiwara, or the scene where Josaphat throws the bribe money back at Slim?

Nice job Thomas, and I agree with your watermark. Seems like you can't trust anyone these days.:sick
