Just watched your video on Youtube. I've been following your project for a few months and I just wanted to send you kudos for your work. I've been working on a miniature of it, so I saw your project when I was hunting through the internet and on RPF for reference material.
One comment I had was on the helmet-to-faceplate connection. I believe on the original the helmet was attached to the faceplate after it was tied on. Part of the support used were two pairs of metal support posts at the temples that were riveted to the helmet and acted to keep the helmet on the proper position on the faceplate. I didn't notice these on your version.
Are you aware of the Kropsercle Maschinenmensch costume project underway? I hope they will finally finish it, and also their 18" replica which they say they will be offering for sale. I have the Masudaya figure, but hope that Kropsercle's will be a bit more accurate. I like the face on the Masudaya (except they didn't quite get the hint of a smile) but the body has some design issues. I've also seen a more recent miniature, but I thought the face on that was pretty unspectacular.
I sympathize with you at your not being able to keep the fruits of your labors. I hope at least that it will be stored where others will be able to see and enjoy your labors. Kudos again.
