MCL34N's Amazing Spidey- 1 Year Later (New Pics Bottom of 29)

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (UPDATED 6-13)(Pic Heavy)

Well done guys! WELL DONE! Am I right in seeing you have also put an invisible zipper down the right back side of the mask for fit? Have you added zips on the boots and gloves also?
Thank you so much for the inspiration boys... You ROCK! ;-)

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (UPDATED 6-13)(Pic Heavy)

It doesn't look like it does, but it is hard to make out from the shots. I was hoping that would remain a secret until I've finished my masks. Can't wait for the day time photos!

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (UPDATED 6-13)(Pic Heavy)

The suit looks wicked, amazingly bad ass.

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (UPDATED 6-13)(Pic Heavy)

can anyone tell me are they the official shoes or did he make them?

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (UPDATED 6-13)(Pic Heavy)

The shoes on the pics are temporary and scratch made, while the asics get here. We just couldn't wait to post pics :)

And for anyone trying to get a hold of MCL34N, besides him being sleep deprived and probably out cold right now, his computer is on the fritz. just fyi.

Proof That an Amazing Spider-Man Costume Can Be Done By A Teenager

That's awesome! I should've put this pic of him hard at work last night so it could've been dropped in there. I'm sure he won't mind...lol

WOW great, just great work, very talented. Well done to all of your hard work!

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (UPDATED 6-13)(Pic Heavy)

Amazing work, MCL34N! And El Fett, you have the perfect build to do the suit justice. Are you going to have studio shots done? Will you be web-slinging around the premiere?

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (UPDATED 6-13)(Pic Heavy)

Thanks for the compliments guys! I'm posting from my phone, but I'll try to answer some stuff. For the chest spider I outlined each portion of the spider with puff paint, then mixed up some black silicone and very carefully filled each piece till it kind of "bubbles"

And yes, there is a neck zipper for ease of use, I decided against glove zippers because I just kind of hate installing zippers, and I didn't want them to wrinkle up when he wears it, like zippers sometimes do.

As far as sales go ( although this should be in the junkyard) I honestly probably won't make any more suits. I already have two more to make, and that will take me the rest of the summer at the rate this took. I will however be offering prints with a more detailed explanation of the puff paint process though, so be ready for that!

Thanks! That means a lot. It's been a lot of hard work getting back into shape to do the amazing suit some justice. Spidey is less muscular and more lean this time around so its been tough! And yes, some exciting premiere stuff will be happening, and of course MCL34N will also be there as a guest of honor. Stay tuned for more news :)

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (UPDATED 6-13)(Pic Heavy)

I just can't even believe how awesome it is! Wow!!!

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (UPDATED 6-13)(Pic Heavy)

Awesome is too small a word for this build.

Only just found this thread today so unlike the rest of you,
I got the whole dose in one shot. I'm seriously tweakin' here.

Can we get some shots of the boots PLEEZE?

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (UPDATED 6-13)(Pic Heavy)

Looking forward to the idea of buying prints for this and also the explanation on the puff paint process, it looks like bery tedious but rewarding work!

I'm not at all good at sewing, would any sewing service be able to sew this together? Would it be straight forward for them?

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (UPDATED 6-13)(Pic Heavy)

I've followed your progress ever since this thread caught my eye. It must be very rewarding for you to see the completed suit after many hours of laboring over it. Your hard work really paid off! The suit is stunning and looks so movie accurate! Really amazing job on it! Thank you for sharing!

And the announcement of prints has gotten me so excited! I really would love to try out your method!

Re: MCL34N's WIP Amazing Spidey Costume (UPDATED 6-13)(Pic Heavy)

one word WOW!!!

OK so what is actually raised details and what is printed? I assume everything black is raised details correct? I will definetely order a print when available.

El Fett

may I ask how tall you are and what is your weight ?
you look real good in it, I honetely would have preffered a more muscular Spidey for the movie.

Yes, I believe that anyone with moderate to advanced sewing skills can stitch it together. A beginner might struggle with it though. As soon as my prints are out I also intend to write a tutorial thread for how to sew these types of dye-sub'd suits together, since I don't think anything like that exists, and will help a lot of people out. Keep your eye on the Junkyard for info on prints! Should be taking orders in the next few days!

Also, the pics from the other page just because-

Who's ready for some pics of the finished suit?? :)

Working on getting them uploaded

Here's the first couple of shots we got before MCL34N finished the front spider (which came out friggin great!)

The back zipper wasn't yet installed on this one but here's so you can get a look at the back spider:

Finally! Here's the first shot of the finished suit in all its glory!

More to come :)

Just a couple more before I hit the hay :) But don't worry. There's plenty more where that came from and more will come soon on my thread too! MCL34N did an outstanding job on this suit and I really hope these pictures do it justice and showcase his great attention to detail.

All these are with no flash on:
