MATT MUNSON MULTIPASS KIT-

G'day folks,

I live in Tasmania, Australia. I was wondering if anyone here would mind filling me in on what a styrene glue is to build this kit? Preferably something I could buy here with a needle applicator:)

Thanks folks
TAZ

PS Any buildup tips on this piece or pics of completed kits would be great to see:)

Are these kits still available? I just got a set of the %th Element stones and would like to get a multipas to go with them.

I'm still frantically searching for one of Munson's Multipass kits. If anyone is willing to let go of one, please let me know! :thumbsup

Hey Taz, digging up a very old thread here, but I was hoping you could tell me what colour you ended up painting your Multipass? I can not find the Plastikote 1004 that Matt recommended..or anything even close to it.

Garthok,
The grey I selected for my tutorial shouldn't be taken as the last word. It was just the paint I found that *I* thought matched pretty closely. It's not something I sourced from production or anything. Just my best guess.

My advice would be to go to your local auto parts store, and look for a medium grey metallic. Maybe compare to a couple of screen caps, and go from there.

And if anyone has purchased a "buildup" of my kit from rich coyle, please drop me a line. I seem to have forgotten the chapter when I sold him a bunch of kits when I "quit" making them. Though rich and I made an attempt to work out a deal to allow him to sell buildups, it never went through. Sure would be a shame to see such a respected member as rich resorting to recasting someone elses kit and selling build ups. Right??

Thanks Matt,

I know your colour was a "close enough" recommendation, but I really liked how it looked compared to the screen caps I looked thru.

The trouble is I could not for the life of me find any type of metallic grey, and I felt it really needed to be a metallic. I even called the distributor of PlastiKote here in Australia, and they said they don't have it and never have.

In desperation..and over a dozen test sprays I tried a Mettalic Charcoal..on the prop!..and it was way too dark. So I bought a cheap nasty air brush which worked suprisingly well, and I mixed up my own colour with several tins of model paints..and now I am pretty happy with how the colour came out.

I did bugger up, and forgot to clean off the dust after sanding down the Charcoal color, and sprayed over the top...such a stupid careless mistake. ..I only mention it to remind others not to forget simple steps.

So now there is a bit of dust in the finish..but I do not want to respray again and risk losing any more detail. Apart from that, I am very happy with how it turned out so far, which is nearly finished, except for gluing on the litle red strip which I will do tomorrow.

Thanks again for originaly spplying these, and your great tutorials.

Hey Guys,

New guy here on the forum and I actually joined the RPF specifically looking for 5th Element stuff. I am looking for a multipass kit. Anyone have one? Thanks in advance!

The right place would be to ask in the junkyard when you are allowed to.:rolleyes

Hey, does anyone know where Munson's tutorial has gone? I bought a couple kits off him about 3 years ago or so and I'm just now getting to it. I thought I had printed out his tutorial but iI can't find it. Any help would be appreciated.
